Isabel,

Is the heart beat regular, that is, you're not in afib currently? If

so, it may be normal. I was surprised at how my heart rate varied

depending on what I was doing. Also, a rate of 245 for a

nanosecond :-) could just be an extra beat or two.

I have been dizzy because of afib or when I was adjusting to more

beta blocker.

Are you taking anything other than bactrim and coumadin, i.e.

anything for rate control for the afib? If not, maybe you need to do

that.

Isabelle, I would certainly hold off on a pacemaker if you can.

There are advances being made every day.

Has your doc suggested trying dofetilide, which has worked well for

some people in here, or an ablation (the afib ablation, not the one

where they zap the node and you wind up with a pacemaker)?

Or is he still trying to figure out what is happening with your heart?
