Hi,

Our son Austin was also diagnosed with CF via ultrasound. He

actually arrived 4 1/2 weeks early due to my water breaking early.

He was my first so we were very surprised at the early arrival.

I don't think one day past a due date is actually considered to

be " late " as a due date is only really an estimated date of birth.

Usually the reason a baby *seems* to be late is due to a

miscalculated date of conception, ovulation, ect. Also, since your

due date was probably recalcuted after you had an ultrasound your

due date is based on the size of your baby....which as we all know

some newborns are 6lbs and others are 10 lbs. My daughter also

came early (10 weeks early), so I honestly don't think clubfoot has

anything to do with it. Hang in there, she will come when SHE is

ready!!

My son was born with a left clubfoot (we had no idea) and I started labor on

my due date and he came the day after. I don't think there is any

coorelation with clubfeet and delivering late.

Hang in there your little one will be here shortly!

My first baby (no club feet) was 10 days late, and my 2nd baby

(bilateral clubfeet) was 1 week early. I don't see any reason why

clubfeet would extend a pregnancy, or any other abnormality for that

matter. If anything, a serious defect might cause premature labor.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. I feel for you

though - those last days seem like months!

My first has MA and she was one week early. My second has bilateral and she was

a week overdue. I wouldn't worry. If you worry all you will do is stress

yourself out even more and that's not good for you or the baby. Just try to

relax and think about how happy you will be to have this little one in your

life. Having my first one a week early kinda spoiled me because then when the

second one didn't come early like everyone including my doc. thought I was

really disappointed. I was having a difficult pregnancy to begin with and just

wanted it over with!

Just try to relax and not worry too much!

Hello all, Have a question about finding clubbed

feet in pregnancy?

As you all may remember my doctor found out that my unborn little

girl will have bilateral clubbed feet. Well i was due yesterday and

she hasn't arrived yet. This is my third baby and first one to be

overdue so i really hate being overdue. Anyway, I have read about

why a baby goes overdue and one of the articles and only article i

have found said that a baby can be overdue because it has a

malformation/abnormality. So i am thinking that her clubbed feet has

something to do with it, the perientologist didn't find anything else

wrong with her. Did anyone elses pregnancy go overdue with their

clubbed feet babies? I am interested in knowing if this article has

some truth to it, it kinda worried me but then i know my doctor would

of told me at 30 weeks if anything else was wrong. Thanks for all

your help.

I don't know if there is any truth to that or not. Both of my boys were born at

36 wks. Trent my second was the only one to have a problem and as far as we

know the only problem he has is the one clubfoot.

As far as any other concerns a friend of mine carried to 41 weeks and her son

was born with no known problems what so ever and he is now 8 months old. So, i

don't know if I would put much faith in that article.

Best of luck keep us updated. Maybe your little bundle just isn't quite ready

and will bless you with her presence soon.

I dont know anything about the overdue factor, but I will tell you

that Feldman of NYU recently told me that ultrasounds

incorrectly predict clubfoot FORTY PERCENT (40%) of the time. I was

told while pregnant with my third child that she would have severe

clubfoot but she was born with perfectly normal feet. Best of luck to

you!

My son was born three weeks late by the Doctor's due date and only one day late

by my guess at the due date. he has bl-cf. My grandson was born 3 1/2 weeks

eraly he also has bl-cf like his uncle. I think babys just know when it is time

for them to be born and when the time is right your little one will know it. My

sons baby is due in December and his wife and him wanted to have a u/s to see if

the baby will have cf like my son but the doctor said that you can not really

tell for sure if the baby has cf with an u/s and that even if you do see cf it

only brings up more ?'s then answers. Just try to enjoy the last few days of

your pregnancy. You will be holding you little one in your arms soon.

Both my babes were born " late " (right on time, y'know! They come when

they're ready!). Rose was born at 41.5 weeks and had unilateral

clubfoot. Iris was born at 42 weeks, no clubfeet or abnormalities. I

think the article was a little hokey. Remember, though, the EDD is an

estimate, not a set date. Most normal pregnancies range from 38-42

weeks.

My first daughter was born 9 days late (no clubfoot) and my second daughter

was born 9 days early (bilateral clubfoot). Her clubfoot was detected at 19

weeks during ultrasound but we were told that the severity of the clubfoot

could not be determined until after birth. With my first daughter I also had

an ultrasound at 19 weeks and her feet were normal. When she was born her

feet were very turned inward but she did not have clubfoot. So, just hang in

there! You never know, but it is definitely good to be prepared!
