Oh Dawn,

I am so sorry that you are having these problems. I know I used to get like

that and just want to stay in bed all day.....

What is getting all these old bills so much after the fact??? Can you get

ahold of your old employer and have them vouch for the fact that you were

only at work a few hours that week??

And that $70.00 you should call the hospital and remind them of their deal.

Now that it is in collections, though, I am not sure if that will help.

Otherwise, just send collections $5.00 at a time till it is paid. They can't

do anything if you are making an effort to pay. Can you guys file for

bankruptcy?? I don't really think it is the answer over a few hundred

dollars but it may be the answer for you guys....

I really pray that things change for you soon....

Love ya,

Zanna

Dawn,

Do not even consider going back to work right now. That is exactly what

disability wants you to do. Don't let them win. If you go to work you will

only get sicker and then your family will not have you at all. I know things

seem dreary now but it will get better. I promise......in the meantime,

please check into general assistance, food stamps, food pantrys, etc.....I

know pride stands in our way sometimes but this is necessity not a matter of

pride anymore....

Lots of love,

Zanna

I guess I don't remember you saying that about the bankruptcy. Don't

apolgize for venting. We all do that sometimes. No need for apologies.

That is what we are here for....

We luv ya girl, chin up, eh??

Hi, Zanna. Thanks for sympathizing. I guess I just needed to unload. Sorry it

was to you all. I'm sure everything will work out and I'm not feeling quite as

helpless tonight. You probably forgot, but we already filed for bankruptcy last

year (just discharged last Dec.) and we're really not that bad off anyway.

We'll

get through, I'm sure. I just wish I could get accepted for my Disability.

Hmph!!

Thanks, Zanna. No, I'm NOT going back to work. I guess I just said that in the

heat of the moment. Besides, hubby would kill me if I even thought of it. LOL.

Hang in there and don't feel bad about venting. That is what we are

here for. I always feel better telling someone who cares how I'm

feeling when things get rough. But the key point is telling someone

who cares.

You know that we all care about you, so vent on girlfriend.

I am sorry to hear that the money problems are getting to you. But

Like I said hang in there. You never know when good things will

happen. Like you said your hubby got a 10min job and made $20 bucks.

Well maybe tomorrow he'll get another one that will pay 100

bucks...and so on and so on. Sometimes you just have to let things go

that you have no control over. Stressing over it won't help you

medically either. So think of it as water rolling off a ducks' back.

EASY!!!!!!

Yeah like I should talk...miss worrywart over here. But I have

learned how to de-compress when I get really stressed out. This

disease had made me realize that there are very few things you have

control over. But you can control how they affect you. Don't let it

get the best of you. You and yours aren't starving.....but you are

getting uncomfortable. So visualize the worst scenario......and then

let it go. That's what works for me at times.

Otherwise...just have a really good cry in the shower and eat a pint

of ice cream. That works for me too. :)

Talk to ya later

Dawn, You are not alone in the matter of bills. I am doing the samething, I give them $5 a month if that, until I here about my SSD. If that is all you can do. DON'T go back to work, cause you will not recieve your SSD, and will have to start all over again. Hang in there. I am so glad that you vented, it's go for ya. You just take a deep breathe and a good cry, things will work out . Take care.

SoI say, "you've been telling me this for the last 4 weeks and you've hadmy appeal since June 26th...can't it be pulled and reviewed NOW?" Hesays no, maybe by the end of Sept. it will be reviewed. Ha! So I callmy Rheumy and had to leave a message, explaining the situation to himand asking if he could have the letter and info. all ready to go once hereceives the request from CPP and could he please say in no uncertainterms that I am unable to work and AM IN FACT disabled. I told him hecould call me back if he has any questions and I haven't heard from himyet, so hopefully that's a good sign that he'll do as he's told. LOL.So this morning I'm still asleep (around 8:15) when the phone rings andI jumped out of bed to get it but missed the call. My caller ID showsit was the Prov. of N. B., Private #, which leads me to think it couldhave been CPP??? I was so mad at myself for missing the call and prayto God it WAS them and they're now reviewing my appeal. Please, please!! Then, awhile later, hubby's bosses secretary calls to ask ifKirk could drop off his pager the next time he's in town. I thoughtthat was extremely odd, but didn't stress too much. Hubby comes homefor lunch (he's not working for boss this week, remember, he's workingprivately on a renevated house) and I give him the message. He says itsounds like the kiss of death and he's quite sure he's going to be letgo, because it's never been an issue with him taking the pager home. Iasked him to call his boss right up and ask, but he won't do that. Sonow I have to stew about it until we find out. UGH! Then, he bringshome the mail and there's a bill from Unemployment from way back inMarch/01, when I had my hysterectomy and took 4 weeks of sick leave. They're saying I owe $210 for a week that I collected UI but had alreadygone back to work, according to my former employer. But what happenedin actuality is I TRIED going back to work and only ended up workingabout 1 hour a day, so now I'll have to fight with them about that.Plus, I've been hounded by a collection agency for $70 that I owe thehospital for injections that I had to go in for twice a day at $10 a popback in Dec./01 and my Dr. said she'd try to arrange it so I wouldn'thave to pay it, so she told me not to pay it. Now the collection agencyis threatening me, so I have to mail that payment off. I just don'tknow how we're going to stay afloat. I'm so sick and tired of worryingabout $$ and am getting really scared. Just wondering if I should justforsake my health and go back to work anyway. I'm sorry this is so longand even if you didn't read it all, I do feel better getting it off mychest. Thanks, Melita. I just love your outlook on life. You make me happy. I

don't have any ice cream, but I did buy some chocolate ice cream sandwiches

today. 12 in a box. Wonder how many will survive??? LOL.

Hugs,

Dawn

PS....Great advice, too. Thanks!

Thanks, Sherri. Yes, I know that's what SSD wants me to do is go back

to work and leave them alone. It won't be that easy for them, though!!

As I've said before, even if they deny me time and time again, I'm NOT

going anywhere and I'll appeal until the end of time, if need me. I'm

going to get what's rightfully mine and that's that (and same for you

and Lem)!! It's scary, because I already have about $2,000 of my

back-pay spent already (just in my mind, that is). LOL. When is our

ship going to come in??

Hi Dawn,

Just try to be patient, it is easy for us who already are on disability to

say that. I had to wait a year before getting on disability, luckily I got a

good severance package from where I worked and also I am Long Term

Disability as well as SS. That eased the money burden for Pat and I as I had

25 yrs where I worked. They payed me 6mths severance plus 2 wks for each

year of employment. I also kept most of my benefits so that helps towards

our prescriptions. I know it is very easy to say it will all work out, but

we are all pretty much in the same boat. If not for this group of Friends

here life could really suck. Keep your chin up and remember we are all in

this together.

Thanks, Ed. Your kind words mean alot. I appreciate it. That's great that you

were treated so good by your employers. A year seems so long to wait for

Disability, but I know from what others have told me, it's not unusual. I've

only been waiting since April, so I know I shouldn't be complaining. It's just

so hard when you're struggling financially. Does Pat also get Disability? I

know you mentioned she suffers from Arthritus. Does she take Methotrexate for

hers? My hubby was doing some work for a gentleman the other night and his wife

is crippled badly with Arthritus and she is taking the same exact dose of

Methotrexate that I am for my PM (20 mg.)

Dawn

PS......You must think that we're making up Ed #1, since he hasn't posted since

you've joined. But really, he DOES exist. LOL.
