Just wanted to thank you all for your encouraging posts. Don't you

worry .......... we " ain't done yet " !! :o) Rick started out today

feeling about the worst he's felt ........he was almost in tears.

After racking my brain for what else I could give him or do for him

(he's on Decadron, Thorazine (just a little), etc,etc) ..... I

finally decided to get him to take one of his 800 mg

Ibuprofens ........and guess what?!! Yep, he's feeling pretty

darned good right now!! Go figure!! You'd think with all those

other drugs something as simple as Ibuprofen wouldn't phase him.

Bet I keep shoving them down him now!! Whatever works! :o)

His hair is finally coming out in little handfuls, so he said I get

to help him shave it off tomorrow. At least guys can pull off that

look easier. :o) He's got some pretty cool " do-rags " from our 4-

wheeler adventures, we'll just have to be " styling " on those cold

days. Attitude is everything you know! Hope you're all having a

decent day ........... my thoughts and prayers are with you all as

well. Thanks for keeping us in yours.

I am glad to hear that Rick is feeling a better. I had strong

suspicions that with both of your great attitudes, he would be back

up again.

You may want to go a check with the doc about the Ibuprofen,

however. The combination of Decadron and Ibuprofen can be pretty

rough on the stomach. My oncologist recommended Tylenol instead.

The newer non steroidal antiinflammatory drugs like Celebrex are

supposed to be a bit easier on the stomach. There is also a drug,

misoprostol, that helps counteract some of the side effects Decadron

has on the the stomach lining, that can be given if necessary.

My thoughts and prayers are with you both.

When my husband lost his hair, I started rubbing the fuzz and calling

him my dawg. Now he's got it all back, but howls when he wants a

head rubbing anyway. You're husband got diagnosed about 2 months

before mine and trust me you are doing world away better than we

are. Mine hasn't been out of the house in a month. Also be sure to

check with the doc on even nonprescription drugs. I know tylenol is

very bad for the liver, but don't know about others. Since the liver

is involved in processing drugs is better to be safe than sorry.

Am very scared right now. He has had swelling so bad. Even with

taking the diruetics that's not helping. His CEA was 3300 in Feb.

He had no chemo in Feb because we were hoping to get him on Erbitux,

but he tested negative for that, So it has to be Avastin. We've been

screwing around trying to harass the insurance co to get it taken

care of, they're saying 2 more weeks before he can have chemo. I've

called the clinic several times and they got him a hospital bed, if

he wasn't going to the Doc tomorrow, I'd take a photo of his legs to

try to convince them of how bad it is. He's got a cold I picked up

when he was in the hospital in Jan. I stayed in the guest room for

two weeks but he caught it anyway.
