Guest guest
Hi Jette, I'm so sorry to hear that Mothers Day was so upsetting for you (please insert BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG HUGS FROM HOLLAND). Try not to be too hard on yourself. You can't go back and 'undo' the binge but you CAN learn from it. You know how bad you felt the next day and that should be a motivation for next time you feel mad at the world. Be prepared for next time. If you like you can share one of my coping strategies. Put a 'bad day' treat away in a tiny but pretty box (I use a special pill box with beautiful flowers painted on the lid) and call it your 'bad day' box. When things start to get you down you know that you have a 'pep pill' waiting for you in the form of your special chocolate/candy (or whatever else you have hidden away in your little box). It's a sort of 'planned indulgence' for when you know you need to splurge and you don't know if you'll be able to limit yourself if you go to an open box of your favourite treat. You have your 'single serve mood improver' all prepared and you can eat it without feeling guilty. I binged pretty bad on Sunday, for the first time in a month. And I can't even use the excuse of " celebrating Mother's Day " . I had a horrible Mother's Day (fighting with hubby AND son), and ended up turning to food for comfort. I ate a 1/2 pound hamburger for lunch with creamed spinach, then a HUGE plate of spaghetti with meatballs for dinner, corn on the cob, then cake and icecream to boot. Exercise was not so hot either. Now I am sitting here with an hour until lunch, and I am starving, even though I ate breakfast as usual. I guess my stomach is thinking... " Hey, where's all the food like last night? " Need to get back on track (and still mad at hubby and son), Jette
