Guest guest
I wrote a long first post here. I thought I'd post this second much shorter one to even get a reply! If someone could be so kind and do the ratio (rt3 and t3, or rt3 and ft3, your choice!) I would be very, very grateful. My latest labs are: FT4 - 14.0 pmol (ref. 8.0 - 20.0 pmol/l) FT3 - 5.9 pmol (ref. 3.5 - 7.8 pmol/l) TSH - 0.76 (ref. 0.5 - 3.6 mlE/l) Tyroxine - 117 (ref. 60 - 150 nmol/l) Trijodtyronine - 2.2 (ref. 1.2 - 2.7 nmol/l) Reverse T3 - 0.38 nmol (ref. 0.14 - 0.54 nmol/l) Thanks! - Starting on ERFA Thyroid tomorrow morning. Wonder if I might have rT3-issues!

Guest guest
Hello , Thanks for replying! Well last month the ratio was 18.5. I started takign ERFA Thyroid 3 days ago and I feel less sleepy now. So good things are happening, this far. After a few weeks, I will know more about if this is the right thing for me or not. If ERFA Thyroid makes me feel worse, I need to to T3 only with my HC. > > Your ratio is 15.5 which is not horrible but not where it shoudl be > either. Guest guest
Dear , Thanks for replying and giving me an answer. I got something like 15 too. How does this work - Why do most people have an rT3 between 0.14 and 0.54 nmol/l (these are the reference levels here in Norway) and feel normal? Let's say if a normal, healthy guy has an FT3 of 7 and an rT3 of 0.55, his ratio would be like 13. And he still feels healthy. How is this possible? Cause all people have rT3! I remember a blood test from back in the spring. I had an rT3 of 0.55. I don't remember my FT3 but I am sure it was not very high. Maybe around 5.5 or something. That would give me a ratio of 10 or something. I am trying to understand how rT3 works, and why most people feel perfectly normal with rT3 in their blood. I just had a horrible experince. I posted about it " What's wrong with me head??? " a few moments ago. I've had pressure in my head all day long, and suddenly BOOM a huge pressure-wave hit my head and I felt like I was gonna die. It was like an extreme case of dizziness I've never felt before. - Can this be rT3, like it's increasing after I started taking ERFA Thyroid 5 days ago? I felt better in the first 4 days on ERFA Thyroid than I've felt in a long time! I am just scared now... I've been fighting for 2 years... So much pain and suffering... Best Regards, in Norway > > Your ratio is 15.5 which is not horrible but not where it shoudl be > either. Guest guest
Because NORMAL peopel have a Ft3 near the top of the range and RT3 middle range or lower. The ratio is MUCH differnt for thise people and if it si below 20 VERY soon they wil NOT feel normal. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/

Guest guest
Ahhh thanks for clearing that up for me! VERY interesting! You live and you learn! I want to check the rT3 of my wife. She is skinny and fit, no diseases, perfection. I already checked her FT3, it's 5.0, lower than mine. But she probably has a very low rT3. Thanks Val! > > Because NORMAL peopel have a Ft3 near the top of the range and RT3 > middle range or lower. Guest guest
I'm really starting to get the whole thing. How about this: I do ERFA Thyroid, 1 grain daily, for a few more days. Take a blood test, get that rT3-result in 1 week. And if it's even worse or the same, I go straight to T3-only meds! My ratio is 14.9. Is it possible to feel normal with that ratio? Can a healthy person POSSIBLY have this ratio at ALL? > > Because NORMAL peopel have a Ft3 near the top of the range and RT3 > middle range or lower. Guest guest
No it is not possible for healthy person ot have thta ratio. It will block too much T3 from reachign the cells. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/

Guest guest
I'm not. I just wanted to try ERFA Thyroid. 1 grain does not make me feel good, that's for sure. Either it's too little (it is too little anyway) or it's rT3 doing this! I have one bad experience after being on T3 and T4 combo for 4 years, up til 2008. Atrial fibrillation. My Ferritin was at 166, so it was not the Ferritin. It COULD'VE been low cortisol, causing T3 to not enter the cells.... What do you guys think of this theory? So I am a little worried about taking T3, yes. But not reluctant! I understand it might be the only way to feel better! BUT I also worry about the low ferritin I have (now at 53, though without stopping iron-intake before I did the test!) . . . and I'm probably not on enough HC yet either!
