,i just cant even if i havent had

any episode for the las two yrs my heart pounds so hard,so loud, iam

out of breath many times and recently some weird things been

happening,

Azariel - you say you haven't had an episode for two years, but hard pounding

heart and breathlessness certainly sounds like a full blown afib even to me.

When I'm not in afib I cannot feel my heart beat (other than an odd beat here or

there) but when I am in afib my heart beats so hard that if I'm holding a

magazine on my chest to read, the whole magazine will move in rhythm to the hard

beats...

You should research carefully the ablation procedure and make sure you get a

doctor who is well qualified to do it... not just someone you doctor has

suggested.. if you go through with it you want it to be done correctly.

Good luck.. we are all there with you.

Azariel,

I've have an ablation (PVA-pulmonary vein ablation). as have many others on

this board. We have had varying results.

Ablations are not always 100% effective. Success rate s vary from Doctor to

Doctor.

I've seen it range from 50% to 95%, which tells me it must be in the 70% to

80% range. Not bad, but not 100%.

For an introduction to an ablation procedure you can go to www.affacts.org

na dclick on Dr. Keane's article and the click on PVI procedure. It will walk

you through the entire procedure. Preperation-the procedure-post procedure.

Question?

What hospital are you visiting and who is the EP who wants to perform the

ablation?
