Guest guest Posted October 6, 2004 Report Share Posted October 6, 2004 We had another growth check today, with a slight worry... Baby A is only 5 lbs 6 oz, up only 15 oz in almost 3 weeks. He is down to 50%th from 80%th. Dr. Peng isn't that worried since he is still growing, but now he's sooo much smaller than his brother, who is 6 lbs 8 oz (up 28 oz)! He says it's not such a big deal now that they are both big enough to be born, and we saw them doing their breathing movements and the placentas and cords look good so I will try to relax Baby B is vertex now (how on earth did the 6.5 pounder turn over?!!!!), we got pictures of both faces (they look like thugs but Bill has the pics so can't scan until tonight). I'm still closed up tight ... but for past 2 days have had 3-4 hours a day of strong contrax 3-5 min apart. Dr. Peng is worried that means they WANT to go into labor and be born but my bicornate uterus can't sustain it, which could stress them. So... new plan - If I don't have the obvious labor signs (dilation, bleeding, water breaking), he will do an amnio NEXT friday the 15th, at 35.5 weeks. If the boys are ready, he'll deliver them 15th or 16th. If not, we'll wait 4-5 days and deliver around the 20th. However, if my uterus settles down and all is quiet, will probably wait until the 20th, without the amnio on Friday. Of course, he's going to be out of town the 10-13th, so I'm sure to go into labor on the 10th!!! LOL 's law, right? Until then, I just wait and try to be patient and indulge my cleaning/nesting urges in moderation hugs Mikki ps - this is a picture my MIL took last week, I just laugh every time I see it, I look so ridiculous!!! If it makes you feel better your babies are both big compared to the lone one I am carrying!!! (I am the one in Fredericksburg who sees the same group of Peri's) Last week at my 34 week appt my baby is approximately 4 lbs 8 ounces- in the 25% and he has the whole place to himself unlike your little guys!!. The doc's don't seem to be overly worried about my baby being on the small side either because he has been growing at every ultrasound. You are almost there, Good luck !!
