Guest guest
Just wanted to add that I did have black coffee that morning with a tsp. of sugar in it and took my HC and cynomel before the lab. It seemed like it was fine. I ate nothing. What do you think? Alayna > > Just wanted to report this and to see if I should still be supplementing. > > Thanks! Did you stop the supplement 5 days before your blood draw for the test?? If not this may be a skewed reading, Nick

Guest guest
What are you using to supplement and how much? I've been taking 50mg a day for like 8 months and the last level was 47, up from 31. I think I will have to take 3 or 4 of those tablets now. I'm getting impatient. What do you use? Thx. And congrats to you. > > Just wanted to report this and to see if I should still be supplementing. > > Thanks! Alayna >

I would not be, as that seems like a very fast raise most here seem to take a lot longer than that to raise ferritin less than half that in much longer periods of time. Could you have an infection going on? I'd test again in 2 months, sooner if you feel symptom return. I just saw the post recommending ferritin of 100, but I believe that to be too high, from my personal researches. I also disagree that low ferritin inclines one to more infections, by all that I read, high iron feeds infections and cancers. just my two cents, sol

I forgot about that. sol Nick Foot wrote: > > >> Just wanted to report this and to see if I should still be supplementing. > > Well done on the improvement. > > Did you stop the supplement 5 days before your blood draw for the > test?? Guest guest
The latest thing I used is Bluebonnet Chelated Iron 27 mg. 8 per day. I did what Birrdy suggested and took four in the middle of the night so as to have another chance at a completely empty stomach. (I have to get up once every night anyway to go to the potty). I was just very careful about when I took it. Away from anything else and on an empty stomach. I had also started taking dessicated liver tablets 2 per day with one of those doses. Hope that helps! Guest guest
I plan to cut my dose in half and do labs again in another 4 weeks. I know what you mean Sol by it going up so fast and I hope I hold onto it. THanks! Guest guest
You can check my post from Oct for more detailed info on the iron Alayna is talking about. It's post #23946. This stuff really seems to work. Alayna's post is just another confirmation to this fact. The latest thing I used is Bluebonnet Chelated Iron 27 mg. 8 per day.  I did what Birrdy suggested and took four in the middle of the night so as to have another chance at a completely empty stomach. Guest guest
I've done the same thing Alayna. I've cut my dose from 250-100 for the last 4 weeks. Hope to retest on Monday and hopefully it didn't fall to much. I plan to cut my dose in half and do labs again in another 4 weeks.  I know what you mean Sol by it going up so fast and I hope I hold onto it. Guest guest
May I please ask what you are supplementing with? I'm having a lot of trouble keeping mine up and getting mine up there. Thanks! Rhonda I plan to cut my dose in half and do labs again in another 4 weeks. I know what you mean Sol by it going up so fast and I hope I hold onto it.THanks! Guest guest
Dr. Teitlebaum says to take it on an empty stomach because food will not allow you to absorb what you want. Apparently up to 80% is lost to absorption. It worked for me and Alayan and a number of other people. No stomach, digestive or constipation problems, at all. Guest guest
Have you noticed a change in symptoms since getting your ferritin up so fast? I just bought another brand that is 65mg. Maybe I should try taking 2 a day. > > > > > > Just wanted to report this and to see if I should still be supplementing. > > > > > > Thanks! Guest guest
I have your previous post. I'm wondering about the new iron I just purchased. I was using one of the Enzymatic Iron products, made by Teitlebaum and my level hasn'[t moved up very fast at all. His product also has liver factions in it as well. I now have one that is 65mg and it says equivalent to 325mg ferrous sulphate. What does that mean? Does that mean one tablet is like taking 325 mg of iron. I get confused when I read on the boards to take 200mg a day for several weeks and retest. Does this 65mg capsule mean I'd be taking more than 200mg? Or do I need to take 2 or 3 of these 65 mg capsules? TY > > > > > > > > > > Just wanted to report this and to see if I should still be > > > supplementing. > > > > > > > > > > Thanks! Guest guest
Actually, I'm not sure what they mean by 65 equals 325. I don't know about that.My Bluebonnet is 27mg and I took 9 of those a day to get to 250mg a day of elemental iron.If you're in doubt why not get the Bluebonnet. As far as testing goes. A couple of weeks will tell you nothing. A couple of months is more like it, I think. I have your previous post. I'm wondering about the new iron I just purchased. Guest guest
OK then, empty stomach it is. I started out that way and then read the bottle and changed to with food. With ferritin at 24, I can't afford these kinds of mistakes. Thanks, birrdyy & Alayna > > > > > > The latest thing I used is Bluebonnet Chelated Iron 27 mg. 8 per day. Guest guest
Hi I think that means you are only getting 65mg of elemental iron in 1 tab. So you will need to take more than 1 tab. Also just a warning ferrous sulphate is the hardest iron to take for your stomach. Sky To: RT3_T3 Sent: Fri, 20 November, 2009 11:47:22 AMSubject: Re: Ferritin is up from 36 to 89 in exactly 7 weeks.
