Guest guest
I took the First Response early detection, and it detected nothing. Then the day after my missed period, I took another test regular First Response and still nothing. Had some implantation bleeding and assumed that was my very faint period...lucky me. Then one week later, took a EPT test and low and behold, we were pregnant. I guess it just takes some longer to detect. Guest guest
Ha, Ha, I used about 50 pregnancy tests also. Even after I got a positive one, I still tested a couple more times to make sure I wasn't just imagining things! I saved a big bundle of money by ordering my tests from: http://www.saveontests.com/ . For about $10, including shipping, I got 25 pregnancy test strips. These are highly sensitive tests which they claim can detect pregnancy as early as 6 to 15 days after conception. The thing about testing early is that NO TEST, at least not the urine tests, can detect pregnancy until after the egg has implanted in the uterus. That might be a week after conception, or even two weeks. So, no matter how sensitive the test is, there is a limit to how early it will work. Plus, the tests detect a hormone called hCG in your body. This hormone comes from the developing placenta. Some women will get higher levels of hCG, sooner than other women, so how early the test works will vary greatly. That is why I liked having a big package of tests, so I could test early, just in case I was one of those lucky women who will see a positive result 6 days after conception. Then I could continue to test every few days after that until I saw a positive, or got my period. As a side note, last time I went through this process, tested real early but it was negative, then gave up because I got my period. I waited till the next month, and even though it was too early to expect a positive result, I tested and got a very dark obvious line. That early, I would have expected a very faint line, if any at all. Turns out I had been pregnant since right before my period! Wacky things can happen, and aparently you can even have a period WHILE you are pregnant!
