Guest guest
I returned after four days, however, there are problems with even moderate lifting, and prolonged sitting is also bad due to the potential of blood clots. We are both about the same age, but my heart is in general acceptable good health. In my case there were over a dozen places ablated, rather than the usual two or three, so there was far more burning than normal. The nature of your work was not mentioned, obviously ditch digging is not suggested. I teach college, and was able to teach two three hour classes. Stressful work can be a problem as these procedures are very emotionally draining. My suggestion is that you treat yourself as gently as you would treat your best friend if they just had an ablation. When I realized just how ridiculous my expectations were, life was far more pleasant. Best wishes, - cured with no afib and no meds after ablation number two

Guest guest
Hi Eileen You are the first to mention CHF and a pending PVA. I have CHF and am considering PVA for my chronic afib. Can you expound about doing PVAs on those of us with cardiac structural problems??? Thanks Buz Post PVA -- What to expect Hi, I am having a PVA by Dr. Natale on April 2 at Marin General north of San Francisco. He comes once a month there. I have been reading on this and the MAZE board about other people's PVA and feel I know what to expect in terms of the operation. But I am wondering about after - -most people are in NSR after so I am hoping for that also. I am 53 and have been working part-time for a few months because of the A-Fib and congestive heart failure caused by the A-Fib. I have been in A- fib off and on for several years and have been in A-Fib since end of September. Here is my question: How soon did you return to work after the operation? Right away? My operation is Friday and I am planning to go to work on Monday. I would like to return to work full-time then. What do you think? (BTW, I have been on Sotolol for quite a while so am used to that medication and assume will continue after the operation) Backup web page - http://afibsupport.proboards23.com List owner: AFIBsupport-owner For help on how to use the group, including how to drive it via email, send a blank email to AFIBsupport-help Nothing in this message should be considered as medical advice, or should be acted upon without consultation with one's physician. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Guest guest
After being in A-Fib for about two months my legs started swelling, I had difficulty breathing, and I gained about 15 lbs. My cardiologist said I had CHF symtoms. That is what I meant by CHF. So she put me on lasix three times a day. The diuretic has helped keep my legs and lungs free of fluid. I am assuming that when my heart is not pumping in so disorganized a fashion that the fluid build up will no longer exist. I don't have cardiac structural problems, just my heart is having difficulty keeping me free of excess fluid. Not sure if I answered your question. > Hi Eileen > > You are the first to mention CHF and a pending PVA. I have CHF and am considering PVA for my chronic afib. Guest guest
Thanks for the information. I am a software engineer so I have a desk job. My heart is in genral good health (according to ultra sound) just have A-fib problems that medicine and internal defibrulator could no longer control. I don't know how many places Dr. Natale will have to ablate. Looks like I will have to avoid prolonged sitting. Thanks for your help. I will take your advice and be easy on my self.
