Re: Re: One of the Oldies

sometime we have to fulfill our emotional needs in order to be able to face our major problems in our life--so could be that we are in need to share about what we are going trough in our life and our nightmares in order to gain back strenght to fight the cancer--I think this group can do that too...share about personal therapies, chemoes, radiation, hair loss, diets, ans also life challangies, and prayers, exortations....heartly love.

1 Corinthians 13

The roaches are to me the ones that just pretend to have cancer, or to deal with cancer, in order to get attention

This people are miserable

This is sick, and God forgive me for the obscenity I am going to say, but I wish they can get the cancer they are looking for--

this are my..."two cents"..?

good day to all

Elaine, I agree wholeheartedly with most of what you said. However, I

encourage newbies to lurk until they feel comfortable or have something

worthwhile to contribute, hopefully concerning BC. I know I was in

total shock when I was first searching for information 6 years ago and

this group was a life-saver, even though I rarely posted. Of course,

we did have regular chat nights back then and I could ask my questions

there. I really think the group has gone downhill in the last few

years....too many postings totally unrelated to the subject, and too

many just saying the same thing over and over and over and

This is what I was Ditto' about and we do have al awful lot of the same thing over and over but I just deleat and go on...

I agree wholeheartedly with most of what you said. However, I encourage newbies to lurk until they feel comfortable or have something worthwhile to contribute, hopefully concerning BC. I know I was in total shock when I was first searching for information 6 years ago and this group was a life-saver, even though I rarely posted. Of course, we did have regular chat nights back then and I could ask my questions there. charles svihlik wrote:

What started all this anyway...maybe I have missed something or it was one of those I deleated....I really don't know what is going on...just all of a sudden there is talk about deleation because some are not posting....can someone enlighten me as to what caused all this Nalbandian wrote:

As far as postings about things unreleated to bc I see nothing wrong with a member sharing their joys, sorrows etc. It will always be that way and not just a place to discuss bc.

Hmm, I don't keep track of these e mail lists. It could be that he isn't or it could be that he is for real. So is this the real problem? How do you know if someone is for real or not? I don't think you do at first. I don't see any way that you can set this up so that fakers don't come in once in a while and pull a scam of sorts. If you did that, you would also end up blocking people that are for real and I don't think anyone wants to do that. If, as someone has suggested, this is not the first time that someone has come on and pulled this, it is really a drag but I would still think that people would initially give everyone the benefit of the doubt and treat them as if they were for real. I think it is the lesser of the 2 negatives to that rather than risk being really rough or mean and they really do need help. This type of thing is an inherit danger to a group like this. We cant see the person, hear their voice and etc. However, the purpose of the group is for people to "be there" for those who need it.

Anyway, that is my 2 cents and just look, I have posted 3 times in 2 days, who would have think it? However, I will undoubtedly go back to my norm and only post once a great while. and delete practically everything I get from this group, and most of the other groups I am on for the simple reason that I don't have enough time to even read all the posts much less to respond to them

Take care.Patty

this group has been my sainity saver!!! praise the lord for sending me to this group!! i am easy going and if don't like something i read i just ignore it because i know marianne will take care of it for us. and here is my 2 cents, my opinion on the subjects. just because we don't just talk about bc doesn't mean we care less. bc is not our life!! we control our life and if the road is bumpy and we feel the need to vent about it, so be it. be it bc, childrend, husbands or life in general, all of this is rolled into the bundle when it pertains to our emotional health. and you must keep a good emotional balance to get through bc. ok this is just my opinion and btw, this is my 4th round with bc and have been fighting this dam dragon since i was 33 and now am 44.

Re: One of the Oldies

I just have to say if this group has gone downhill -- I can't imagine how 'great' it must have been before -- because I've only been a member a few months, but I feel that part of the reason that I'm doing okay and holding onto my sanity is this group. I also feel that the people who promised to think of me or pray for me while I was in surgery, were with me in the operating room.THANK YOU FOR THIS GROUP!> > I have been a member since 2000. I just wanted to pop in and let you know that I am here. I haven't

been posting much becuase of all the craziness at home. BUT i am

definitely reading all the posts and praying where I can. My mom is

doing quite well post surgery for BC and it will be 2 years in

November. I enjoy being able to post when I can and even though I am

a relative of a bc survivor I have always felt this is a family and it

is that family that has helped me navigate all the worried of being a

family member of someone with bc.

BTW - we are movng in 73 days now and has said he wants to do

the bc walk/run down in Nevada where we are moving to.

Also, if I may.......i'd like to brag a bit. I have been going to

TOPS and have now lost 93.25 lb since 25 May 2004. Having this group

to vent to about my concerns about my mom has allowed me to focus on

taking care of myself.

hugs..........judith (aka ladybug)

Hi Judith, good to hear from you. I am glad your Mother is doing well. Two years is great. I can remember you talking about her surgery in the crochet group.

I also remember when your days to move where in the 3 digit numbers. I bet you are getting really excited. Please tell I think its great he is going to do the Komen Race.

Geez you sure have lost a lot of weight. Mine is coming off VERY slowly and all this tension is making me more hungry than normal.
