Guest guest
Hello All, I'm new here so Hi to everyone. I am 8 weeks pregnant and have a b/uterus - i've done alot of reading (probably too much) about this and am absolutely terrified that I am not going to be able to carry my bub to term, that I will miscarry. Does anyone have any positive stories about having a bub even with a b/uterus, to help ease my fears? Jody

I've got 2 kids and twins on the way, if that'll help Have you seen a heartbeat yet? I did have several very early m/c, but my high-risk OB doesn't think the b/u had anything to do with that problem, and once you see a heartbeat chances of m/c are less than 5% ... he says the risks of b/u are primarily pre-term labor and breech presentation requiring c-section ... so ignoring the m/c, I have a daughter, born at 35.5 weeks (5.5 lb), breech & c-section, and a son born at 38 weeks (8.5 lbs) by c-section. I don't know if he was breech or not, as the c-section was planned due to the risks of VBAC in a b/u. Neither child had to spend any extra time in the hospital and are perfectly healthy I'm currently 27 weeks pregnant with twins (fraternal, one in each horn), and of course we are worried about stresses on my uterus but I'm almost out of the woods as far as survival of the boys go so we are hopeful that I'll make it to at least 32 weeks! A lot of women here have problems with incompetent cervix (although I actually have the opposite problem, mine has never opened!), so things to check with your OB are - ask for an early u/s if you haven't had one already (just for peace of mind , have an early baseline check of your cervix and have them check it often so they can put in a cerclage if it seems called for, and be mentally prepared for a c-section (I've had 2, it's not so bad, considering the prize :). Good luck, keep us posted! MIkki
Guest guest
Hi Mikki, Thank you for your positive story. Such a lovely relief. I had an u/s this week and saw the little person and his/her heartbeat and all seemed fine from what could be seen. I have to see my GP this week re the next steps re my b/uterus. This is my first baby and I am a bag of emotions - of course over the moon, but it seems the more 'reading' i do the less positive i start to feel......it all seems negative when reading about a b/uterus. thank you again.. Try to relax and enjoy now Chances are VERY good you'll be holding that baby in about 7 months . Just keep an eye on your cervix and don't get emotionally attached to a vaginal birth sending lots of " easy pregnancy " vibes your way! hugs mikki
Guest guest
My wife carried twins (girl & boy) up to 32 weeks and 2 days, a 3lbs and 2lbs twins. They stayed in the nicu for almost a month and right now doing great, growing before our eyes. My advice to you is to stop worrying and focus on positive side of it, think like its a normal pregnancy with super extra care. My wife was diagnosed with didelphys uterus (2 complete but separate system) 5 years ago when we started seing a doctor about our problem getting pregnant. It's been a roller coaster ride for us but when we found out that we're pregnant with twins we were really excited but our RE told us about my wife's situations. For the first week we really scared about the possible outcome of her pregnancy but we decided to trust GOD and go for it and change our ways of thinking to positive, find a good high-risk docs, good monitoring and support her always. I can't post all the photos here, we have tons of it. You can check out their pics here --> http://www.pinay.org/gallery/view_album.php?set_albumName=twins We hope our story gives you ease your fear a little bit. > > Does anyone have any positive stories about having a bub even with a > > b/uterus, to help ease my fears? > > I've got 2 kids and twins on the way, if that'll help > > Have you seen a heartbeat yet?
