Guest guest
Hi, I have been on the weight watchers program since April 2002 and have lost 130 lbs. I have a question for anyone that maybe able to help. My weight loss has been on a plateau for 5 months and now is starting to move a little but only about an average of .5 per week in the last 5 weeks. I use all my points per day (26 points) and I earn about 5-6 exercise points per day but don't use them. Should I be using them to get my maximum weight loss or is there something else I should be doing to get my weight loss moving a little quicker. I am getting very frustrated and don't want to fall off the wagon. I have been overweight since I was 10 and don't want to go back to 350 lbs again. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Sherrie
Guest guest
A loss of .5 lb per week is actually pretty good, but I'm sure it can be frustrating if you're used to losing more than that. I definitely suggest eating 2-4 of your activity points every day and see how that goes. You might actually be depriving your body of food and it's going into starvation mode. Do this for a week or two and see if that helps. Personally, I think you'll see a difference if you eat a little more. Your body gets used to doing the same thing, thus causing those annoying plateaus. Since you're accummulating so many activity points a day, your body probably needs that extra fuel. Just so you know, I'm not a WW leader... just an avid WW member. I ate at the high point of my range (on the old Winning Points system) and I usually lost more than people who ate at their low range. I also racked up at least 2 activity points a day. I hope the change will work for you. Keep us updated on your journey. And don't fret about going back to your original weight. You're still losing weight doing what you're doing...just not at a pace you're happy with. BUT, you're still losing and that's AWESOME! =) G. 175/155/130 Help Hi, I have been on the weight watchers program since April 2002 and have lost 130 lbs. Guest guest
Sherrie, CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Wow, what an amazing accomplishment already. I also think it's awesome that you've stuck through a 5 month plateau. I would try eating maybe about 1/2 of your exercise points per day for a week or two and see where that gets you. Your body may be in " starvation " mode and feeding it more might help. Also, remember .5 is not a plateau anymore. So maybe now your body is ready to start losing again. Obviously your weight loss will slow down now that you have less to lose. Good luck and keep up the great work! Guest guest
>and I cut down from 9 isocort to 6 the first day, then to 4 the second day..but then drank a half bottle of wine. I am tired and worst of all my all over fungal rash...which I have trying to conquer, seems to be getting worse. >I am desperate feeling, in pain and in tears...and I dont know how I can do this. I dont even know if its WORTH it. > Hang in there. Cutting down at that speed will make you crash worse. If you are going to go right down you would have to do it more slowly. Temperature is the big one though, if that's bouncing you don't have enough adrenal function. http://www.drrind.com/therapies/metabolic-temperature-graph gives the instructions for temperature measurement. If those day to day averages are not stable more isocort (or HC) is needed. There seems to be a lack of knowledge in them trying to get you to stop suddenly for the tests, apart from anything else it would probably skew the ACTH test, Good luck Nick -- for more information go to www.thyroid-rt3.com
Guest guest
Leisa, remember doctors are JUST people. Yes it is NICE to have their blessings and prescriptions which make us feel safe. Once you have almost died under one's care you WILL feel differntly. I no longer crave the 'safety' of a doctor's care as I don't trust them AT ALL. I trust my research and my experience and the experiences of thousands of people I have talked to. We on these groups talk more specifics with more people in a month than they see in a year! This si why email groups are surpassing the knowledge of most doctors. We have a vested interest in gettign well, they make their livings on sick people. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/

Guest guest
A Ha!. I was diagnosed with endometriosis about 1992 (32 then) also a year before that I was feeling cold and tired and my skin was dry and I had the doctor do a thyroid scan then. THe doctor said I had a mild goiter that went away. How can you tell a goiter has gone away. But I was 31 and figured, okay. Now all these years later I'm finally using some thyroid hormone, but not optimized yet and still struggling, but I thought to myself I wonder it all my ovarian cysts, and the ovary they had to eventually take out b/c it looked pre cancerous, and the endometriosis they took out behind my uterus were somehow linked to the thyroid and if in fact I've been mildly hypo all these years? And I'm now wondering if the fact that I was possibly low thyroid most of this time is the reason my muscles are filled with knots and I have all these pain issues and also osteopenia to boot. > > If you are going ot lower ISocort oyu need ot do it SLOWLY n o more than > 5mg weekly so about 3 pelklets a week.
