Guest guest
Gail: Keep the spam handy..The YUCK had no effect with us. However our neighbor has a sugar problem and they gave her something different. Not exactly appetizing , but think of it as The Elixir of Life and it goes down. Actually we both watched the procedure and sat together awaiting the results. Hers to Cheers when your'e done. Hugs and good thoughts, our prayers are with you.. Guest guest
Hi Gail. I wish you much luck tomorrow and please do let us know how things went. In my opinion, today was the worst of it...the prep day is worse than the actual procedure. When I had my colonoscopy last October, I didn't have to drink all that yuk....just a small bottle of phospha soda and a couple of Ducalax...did the trick beautifully and I was starving. Last year Bert drank that stuff but he sure didn't have any reaction to it. This year for his colonoscopy he had to take 40 laxative pills....that's right, 40! Twenty over an hour between 11:00 a.m. and noon and 20 more between 3:00 and 4:00 p.m. They were perscription, mild, and seemed to work for him better than all the yuke. Different gastros, different methods, I guess. Anyway, again good, good luck tomorrow. It will be just fine. Hugs, Monika > Hey Everyone, > > Its Gail in Ga, Ive been drinking that gallon of Yuck from the > Pharmacy and getting ready for the big day Colonoscopy tomorrow,, As > you say, I hope today is the worse of it. > > I drank about half a gallon maybe a little more so far, but then > something strange happened, seemed the more I drank the more sleepy I > got,, So I went to take a nap. > > While napping I had some awful, Crazy dreams, they were confusing and > wild and seemed to jump from one bad dream to another,,, > > And I still have the night time to go,, Gotta get busy and down the > rest of that guke. > > Anyway,,, If anyone has ever had this procedure before,, Heres my > Questions, What side effects does that guke have,, does it give you > nightmares, It seems like I was hallousinating (sp) in my sleep. > > > And now I have a terriable headache and hubbie wanted me to cook,, I > cooked alright,, I called Dominos,,,,,lol > > What I should have done was thown a can of Spam at him....lol > > > Spam still in the can seems to stop hungry husbands cold! Guest guest
Gail My gosh you are a riot. Do let us know how you make out. My Grandma used to make Spam with brown sugar and pineapple just like a little ham. She learned that during W.W.II with the meat shortages. Can you imagine eating that nasty stuff 24x7 YUCKO!!!! I don't envy you drinking that phospho stuff. My husband says if you divide it up and drink it over an hour it's still disgusting but doable. I'll keep the SPAM and a cast iron pan handy. Ah Men if they had common sense they'd be dangerous <LOL>. Mine has a Master's degree but sometimes I wonder......... But despite it all I love mine to pieces all 3 of them. Phil (44), Danny (17), and Timmy (12) > Narice > caregiver to Phil > diagnosed June 19, 2003 > Stage 4 with multiple liver mets > > July 2003- Severe swelling, Some Jaundice PCP tells us NOT to > seek treatment. > We begin treatment with Dr. Jan Rothman > at Regional Cancer Center Erie, PA > 5FU, Leucovorin, Oxilaplatin > August 2003- Phil's weight drops from 165 to 135 > > September 2003- Phil goes off diuretic (oops) > In late September he has CT showing > significant > reduction of tumor. ;-) > December 2003- Tumor stable side effects so far are minimal some flu > like symptoms with the Oxilaplatin, dry > chapped hands > and occasional nausea > March 2004- Weight gain of 20 lbs (fluctuates between 155-160) > Tumor still stable, (13 cm in colon multiple liver > mets.
