Guest guest
Anyone else get to urge to punch something after reading his posts? I had to come over here for a big breath of fresh air. Advice to those who read him. Try not to react to his garbage. Just post about resurfacing so those reading his posts still see the " other side " and don't engage dear Geoffrey. He's the pits. Guest guest
Hi all, And yes I am having deep trouble resisting too................ For Lynda - Geoffrey is on TH list and is currently making it his business to deter anyone who asks any questions about Resurfacing and/or mentions the word............ In doing this he presents his 'information' as fact, often inferring that either his training as an engineer or his OS feeding him information gives him this authority............. Like so much of this type of thing it is 'information' dispersed with opinion and downright innundeo........ like other countries health systems that accept Resurfacing are not up to US standard because they are nationalised health systems...... Little gems appear like m/m Resurfacing has to be the worst as it gives a bigger surface for ion in the blood possibilities, while quoting this is a problem because a lady has just told us about needing to have her THR removed due to a high level of ions in her blood......... or that m/m Resurfacing increases bone damage due to metal transferring more vibration to the bone........thus a plastic to metal THR is better....... vibrations only come through the top bit apparently....... The latest missive suggested that the glue in Resurfacing might do harm to unborn babies.......... Sadly people like this seem to think we live in a perfect world where everyone gets exactly what they want and are not subject to a heap of other health/financial problems which may either preclude their choices or make worrying about obscure side effects a long way down the list.......... i.e. I know I am going to do far more harm to my kidneys and liver with pain killers needed for my spine than any possible ion increase will ever do............... One gets to the point of suggesting he go live with his pain until stem cell research provides him with a perfectly regenerated new hip joint.........for I am sure he is going to be disappointed with anything less..........and let the rest of us get on with enjoying our lives with whatever prothesis the medical mob have given us........... Guest guest
I just read his posts and don't think any of us have any worries about his ability to deter any thinking person from resurfacing as an option. If anything, his misspelled, illogical, mis-informed, puff-chested tirades would drive anyone with an i.q over 11 into our camp to see what offends the benighted. The, umm, (how can I say this without sounding snobby?) noetic analysis of resurfacing as a viable option by the people who chose it was in large part what kindled my original curiosity. And once I started to read the resurfacing sites, I felt like I'd found a " home " of patients who did not just share my physical affliction, but my aproach to problem solving, self help, and mutual patient empowerment. What a great community you all are! Thank you for being here! Pity poor Geoffrey. Any prospective patient who is deterred by his jeremiads would probably not have the gumption and pluck to get a surf job anyway. I'm just furious with myself for wasting so much time following his thread. Happy New Year, All Sheila > > > > Anyone else get to urge to punch something after reading his > > > > posts?
