Hi ,

I remember bleeding for a long time. I can't say exactly how long but it was

definitely more than a week. After that I had a watery discharge for over a

week. Doc said all of this was normal. I got AF right on schedule from there!

Is it light or heavy?

Spoke to soon...

So I'm a little nervous b/c I'm still bleeding (hyst. was Mon.). I

know when I last posted that I said I had stopped but later that

night it started again. The bleeding is light and I have the tiniest

bit of cramping, but I'm nervous b/c I'm just not sure how long I'm

supposed to be bleeding. Otherwise, I feel great. Any thoughts?

Hey ,

I didn't bleed for that long, but my doc did tell me that if I did it was

normal. I even got a take home sheet telling me that too. Just take your temp

and make sure it's normal, high temps indicate infection. Other than that I'm

sure you are fine. You always know though it you don't feel reassured give your

doc a phone call.

Do you have a followup appointment?

Bleeding can be lighter or heavier than a period, but it is usually lighter.

Bleeding gives way to clear discharge that may last as long as two weeks.

For my first operative hysteroscopy, I bled for a couple of days very

lightly. Mostly it was just blood-tinged fluid, very pink. I had some

serous discharge for two weeks, as promised. Cramping was minimal for the

first day or two. I had had no balloon.

After my second operative hysteroscopy, I bled and cramped as if it were a

moderate-flow period for about four days, until my uterus expelled the

cellulose adhesion barrier that the surgeon left there in lieu of a balloon

catheter. Then discharge rapidly slowed and lightened.

Your bleeding and cramping report does not sound unusual at all. For peace

of mind and to play it safe, take your temperature twice a day to check for

fever and also be aware of any developing pelvic pain, just in case of

infection. Treating it promptly will minimize any damage. This is an

uncommon complication of a lap/hyst, so no need to get alarmed, unless you

are showing frank symptoms.

Good luck with mending.

I too bled for about a week. Then this discharge also. At first it was

really light and then heavier and then light again. Never as much as normal

period. You sound normal to me! -Liz
