JJ, I would not DARE contradict you BUT I have read it does slow it

down (Dr. Atkins said so). I imagine it does in the sense that when

you drink, the next day you don't much feel like exercising or doing much

of anything, so when you don't exercise consistently your metabolism

slows down??? All I know is that now that I don't drink (as often

and as much), I do MORE exercise, don't have those food binges that come

with a hangover AND I am slowly losing weight without a lot of effort in

the food dept...course not to mention I feel better. Now if I could

cut it out completely maybe I COULD BE A SIZE 4!!!!

Joya

t does not slow your metabolism down, but it does sedate the brain...and

it does increase the uptake of fat in the diet, so many people find that

if they will cut out ALL alcohol of any type they will lose weight more

quickly.

Does alcohol slow down your metabolism?

Sure does me. One or two sips and I am ready for bed!
