Guest guest
, Welcome! > I have a m/c at 12 weeks at end of Jan and after getting referred to a gyne and having a laparoscopy it has been discovered that i have 2 cervixes and a vaginal septum. I'm sorry to hear about your m/c. It sounds like you have UD (uterus didelphys), although your dr will have to look closely to be sure. I am also UD. UD typically has 2 uteri, 2 cervices, and a vaginal septum. > that have been discussed are to leave things as they are and have IUI or operate... Has anyone else had a similar experience as not really sure what to expect and can't find any information with regard to similar experiences. Well, that depends. Did you get pg on your own? If so, you may want to just get pg on your own again. Why did you miscarry? Was it IC (incompetent cervix) or another reason? If it was IC, you can get a cerclage and have your dr monitor your cervix length the next time you are pg. I'm not sure what operation you refer to...UD is usually left alone. > Heres hoping whatever happens there will be a BFP soon, by whatever means!! Good luck ttc! (trying to conceive) Let us know what your dr finds when he runs some tests! C. 28, UD 2 m/c (non-UD related), ttc
Guest guest
thanks for your message. I actually have 1 uteri, 2 cervices, and a vaginal septum and dr ssaid that it is as he put it 'slightly special'!! Don't think thats quite how i would put it but it could be worse! i did get pregnant on my own last time but he said he thinks the chances are pretty low of it happening although as we proved last time not impossible. just not sure if i can take many more months of ttc. I wasn't told why i m/c they seemed to think it was 'just one of those things' so don't really know if my new found condition was he cause or not. i am hoping my scan will give me more info. the operation reference was only what i thought i remember my dr saying asfter the laparoscopy but could be wrong as not sure i was fully taking it all in at that point!! Anyway thanks again and will let you know how it goes. Good luck to you too nat > , > > Welcome! > > > I have a m/c at 12 weeks at end of Jan and after getting referred > to a gyne and having a laparoscopy it has been discovered that i > have 2 cervixes and a vaginal septum. > > I'm sorry to hear about your m/c. Guest guest
Nat, > I actually have 1 uteri, 2 cervices, and a vaginal septum and dr > ssaid that it is as he put it 'slightly special'!! Don't think thats quite how i would put it but it could be worse! Of course you're special! Now, having 1 uterus/2 cervices makes me think that you're probably BU (bicornate), but you'll have to check with your dr. I would probably get a second opinion by someone very knowledgeable in MAs. " Treatment " will depend on your anomoly. (see below) I'm sure some of the other ladies from the site will chime in here too. > i did get pregnant on my own last time but he said he thinks the > chances are pretty low of it happening although as we proved last > time not impossible. just not sure if i can take many more months of ttc. Do what works best for you!! > I wasn't told why i m/c they seemed to think it was 'just one of > those things' so don't really know if my new found condition was he cause or not. i am hoping my scan will give me more info. Many times, a cause isn't found. When you are pg again, have your dr monitor your cervix just in case! You never know! > the operation reference was only what i thought i remember my dr > saying asfter the laparoscopy but could be wrong as not sure i was > fully taking it all in at that point!! This goes back to the thing about different " treatments " . Some MAs have surgical options...others (like me) don't. I was assuming you were UD, but if you have another anomoly, your options may be different. Hopefully, you'll be able to sort that out the next time you see your dr. Thanks for the well-wishes. I hope that you're able to find out more info next time you see your dr. But, you're doing something very important right now - getting information! The more informed you are, the better " equipped " you will be to make decisions. Good luck!! C. 28, UD
Guest guest
Just want to piggyback on the questions asked earlier. I was told I have UD. But the only test that was done was a sonogram by my OBGYN, the RE just did a manual exam and looked at the sonogram and said I was UD even tough he couldn't see the 2 cervix. I was seen by a urologist who did discover that I only have one kidney and I understand that this is very common for women with UD. Is there another test I should get done to confirm my MA? I want to make sure I am getting the correct diganosis! THANKS! UD,
Guest guest
Hello Ladies and welcome to the board, I am a 34 year old UDer. I was diagnosed through when having an HSG to check to see if my tubes were open. The dr. could see one 2 cervix and 1 uterus, but he had a feeling (head of radiology and had seen this before) that there was a second uterus " hiding " , sort of pushed up and over to the side, and through transvaginal ultrasound he found it. Now, I have heard of other woman having MRIs to confirm their special anatomies, but I didn't have that done. I have had one miscarriage, and have had unexplained IF. I just had a lap done this past Monday to check for endo, and low and behold it was there, and they removed most of it, and now I will go on Depot Lupron to clean the remainder up and give my body a rest. I had the vaginal septum removed too - since there was no way a dr. could do 2 paps, and this is so critical - if you have two cervixes, make sure you get two paps, and if your ob can't do it, find an ob who can, there are obs out there who can get to hard to reach places! Yes, having an MA can indicate that you will have a unique kidney situation. These two developments occur at about the same time in the embryonic stage of your development. Ine suggestion I have is if you have any thought of getting pregnant, go find an OB or RE who can help figure out what it is you have for certain, and then what, if any, treatment, you may need to make sure your pregnancy is uneventful. Hope this helps, and feel free to ask anything, we are here to help each other! kdoofrog wrote: Just want to piggyback on the questions asked earlier. I was told I have UD.
