Guest guest
......I AM TO YOUNG FOR THIS!!!!!!!!! Joya, I thought I was too young for it too, but ended up having a hip replacement. My hip had deteriorated (SP?) so badly, there was nothing left. When I woke up in the recovery room the first thing I noticed was "THE PAIN WAS GONE!!!" Please have it checked out as your jogging may aggravate an existing condition,,,,been there done that! Concerned, Carol

Guest guest
Carol, What kind of dr. did you see? I have an internist and of course, a gyn. I do have an orthopedic dr who has seen my knee when it blew out...is that who I should see about the hip? I had a DEXA a year and a half ago that showed moderate osteopenia of the hips, but the gyn did not seem concerned at the time. Thanks, Joya
Guest guest
Joya, it is amazing how fast the deterioration happens, so go to the doctors, an orthopedic guy. I was at a wedding, dancing with my girlfriend's husband in June when I first noticed it and a year and a half later I was having the operation done. (I always blame him LOL) Carol
Guest guest
The first thing I noticed was some extreme discomfort/pain in the joint area. I thought at first that I had pulled a muscle, but it didn't go away. It hurt to get up from a sitting position...the hip would kinda lock...eventually it hurt to do anything, walk, stand, sit...I couldn't find any comfort at all...tried all kinds of anti-imflammatory pills, but they either bothered my stomache or doped me up so badly I couldn't function properly. I kept on fighting having the surgery...until we went on a trip to Provincetown with a few other couples and I just couldn't keep up with the walking, dancing etc. At that point I just hung up the towel so they say. After the surgery, as I said, the first thing I noticed was the pain was gone...I have never regretted it. At some point I know I will have to have the other one done too, but losing some of this weight has really helped. The replacement I had, the hip joint was completely gone....this one, seems not as bad. If there is any doubt in your mind...GO TO THE DOCTOR!!! I cannot stress it enough. Wow...CArol...you convinced me...getting up and down is a chore (especially when I make sure I have everything I need, sit down and then have to immediately get up again for something!)...actually sitting hurts too and lying down is the only comfortable position I am finding...the aspirin is keeping it under control, but I guess it is time to haul myself over to the dr. I hate going because I have to wait HOURS to see him, usually. Joya
Guest guest
Severe internal ILIO-PSOAS muscle spasms will do the same thing....can't sit---can't stand---only lying flat alleviates the pain or discomfort----there are *hundreds* of other things that can cause these type of symptoms...make sure the doc looks at ALL of them........ ''Joints~~Muscle-soft tissue~~Nerves~~all of their functions Bone structure~~mechanical~~~~i.e.~normal and abnormal function of the joints, spine and muscles~~pathology-diseases that can cause these kind of symptoms~~~posture~~~types of exercise~~~methods of exercise~~~~activities of daily living---habits of our normal activities Remember---pulled muscles can take up to 6-8 weeks to heal. ----- Original Message ----- The first thing I noticed was some extreme discomfort/pain in the joint area.
