Guest guest
Dear Val, I had a blood draw yesterday morning and this afternoon I rang the lab to get my results which are : TSH 0.03 FT4 2.4 (bottom of range usually 11, so reading very low) FT3 9.6 (way off the top of the range) I forgot to ask for the ranges but had a look at the ranges on my last draw from the same lab to compare and based my comments on them. I am surprised that I am making T4. I thought that the T3 I take (87.5 µg/day) would stop the TSH secretion completely and therefore I would have no T4 in my blood even though I take iodine. All the info I have read on the subject says that T3, particularly in large quantities, should suppress thyroid hormone secretion. Do you have any idea what is going on here? I would like to hear from anybody else on this list who does iodine too. MacGilchrist
