Guest guest
Does anyone have information(have seen it but did not keep it) on a magic mouth- wash for mouth sores(ulcers) Nick is on Xeloda and today discovered two sores. Will call his oncologist and the Xtra nurse but they don't answer early and in the book, and notes and all the other parphernilia says to stop and we won't take another dose until we get call back from service. We have a preparation made from a bee pollen and two recommended by other cancer patients and one from our notes. Any help will be gratefully appreciated. Thanks Nick & Jane
Guest guest
Becky, Nick and Jane, Thanks for the reference for the article in CURE magazine. I will check it out. Nick-Sorry you are having mouth sores. I have only had a few intermittantly, but they sure are miserable. I suspect that you are going to have to wait for a prescription from the doctor for a concotion that contains lidocaine gel- a topical anesthetic. I found this website about mouth sores http://www.cureourchildren.org/mouthsores.htm that describes it. Hope you feel better soon. Guest guest
Nick and Jane, My Onc. prescribed this for me; NYSTATI/DEXAME/LIDOCA/CVS ALLE. I don't know what all of the abbreviations mean, but i think the CVS/ALLE has something to do with CVS pharmacy where I get my prescriptions. I havn't used it yet,so I don't know how it tastes or how effective it is. Dale M

Guest guest
When my father was fighting brain cancer, he got mouth sores from the radiation and chemo. We found the pure aloe vera juice worked wonders. He would swish it around in his mouth and then spit it out. The sores healed very quickly. The tip was given to us by the oncology nurses. Aloe vera juice can be found in drug stores. Just make sure you get " pure " juice, with no additives. > Does anyone have information(have seen it but did not keep it) on a magic > mouth- > wash for mouth sores(ulcers) Nick is on Xeloda and today discovered two > sores. > Will call his oncologist and the Xtra nurse but they don't answer early and > in the > book, and notes and all the other parphernilia says to stop and we won't take > another dose until we get call back from service.
