Amy, Yeah, I am still having fun with the bladder....though I haven't had much of a problem hearing the heartbeat!! (smile) It is the neatness thing! I am so glad you mentioned it and I ordered one!! That was cute what Bob said about there being another person in the room that he couldn't see. It does seem to really make things real for them. Don heard it the first night and than the next night I didn't listen to it and Don asked me the next night, if I had listened to it and I told him no and he said, well are you going to tonight!!! We were able to tape it and play it for his parents who live up in New Jersey....they were amazed. (Don is an only child, so this will be their first grandchild) They are talking about getting a place down here part-time. His dad is a retired firefighter but his mom is a real estate agent up there still so I don't think she is ready to leave just yet and Don's grandmom is up there and she is 81yrs old, ya know, so I don't think they want to leave her either. It would be nice to have them part-time though. I can't believe 13 wks for you, Saturday, right? That is Super Duper!!! I am glad to hear your m/s is gone, boy, I hope mine goes soon too!! Take care. 12wk3d ep 12-00 RE: After I sent that message about having a full bladder to get best resultswith the doppler, I realized who I was saying that too! Sorry, I forgot fora moment, but then I was thinking oh that poor dear....so how will she knowif it is really full or just that feeling? I drink a bottle of water (like20oz size) and then wait about 1/2 hr and that seems to work fine. Funnyyou should mention about Bob listening to the h/b. The first time he triedto hear it was one of the times I didn't have a full bladder...we had justcome home from the drive-in movies and I waited a looong car ride to go tothe bathroom. Almost as soon as I emptied my bladder, he decided he wantedto try and hear the h/b...ugh! He's been kind of tentative about hearing itso I just told him when he wanted, let me know. He's really excited somedays and some days he just seems scared about being a dad. I mean he isoverall very happy, but sometimes I think he worries about if he'll measureup...know what I mean? Well on Sunday night I told him I was going to golisten and he came with me...he was so freaked out by the sound of the h/b!!I was just laughing at him...it was so funny. He said Wow! there is anotherperson in this room that I can't see!-AmyR12wk4d

Amy, Yeah, I am sure you are right, Don's parents will be making more frequent visits when their grandchild arrives. (glad I really like them and that are parents get along! (smile)) Do both of your parents live close? It still amazing me that I am going to me in my 2nd trimester soon too. My "little goal" is that August comes soon, so I will be half way there!! hee hee! Not to mention we should be able to have another u/s than too!! I was looking at the book from State Farm and what he/she should look like at 13wks and it is amazing how it looks like a little person now, I can't wait to see an u/s again. I am just glad we have the doppler for now, that will keep me happy! When I need to be reminded that I am really pg, I just listen to that little heartbeat! Well, at the moment, the m/s and all is helping me remember too!! (smile) I am glad you are feeling better. After feeling bad for awhile I guess you forget what it is really like to feel good. I am hoping my turn will be coming soon! I spend alot of time on the couch resting and poor dh is always asking how I am feeling, I think he is waiting for a different answer one day.... Take care and hope you have a great weekend. 12wk3d ep 12-00 RE: Glad you haven't been having any troubles hearing the hearbeat despite thebladder problem! I find the h/b so easily now I almost wonder if the fullbladder isn't necessary anymore, but I hate that feeling of not finding it:( so I continue to drink water for now. That's great that you could sharethe h/b with Don's parents! I'm sure once the baby is born, even if thedon't live by you part time, you will be seeing more of them especially ifDon is an only child :)Yup, 13 weeks tomorrow!! Absolutetly amazes me!!! I mean that's 1/3 of thepregnancy over with...WOW!I sure hope the m/s lets up on you soon. While it was around I keptthinking oh this is that bad, I can handle it. But now that I feel goodagain and remember what it's like to feel this way, I know that m/s reallywas awful! Bob is beyond pleased that I am feeling better. He keeps sayinghow amazingly different I have been this week. I didn't notice acting thatdifferent, but I think I am a lot happier...how could I not be?! I hopeyour turn is soon!!-AmyR12wk6d

My parents live about 10 min away, which I sometimes don't think is

far enough ;) Love 'em, but my mom still thinks me and my sister are

little girls that she needs to take care of...it's nice in one way,

but can be annoying sometimes too. Unfortunately, both of Bob's

parents are no longer living. His father died when he was 19 yrs old

and his mother just passed away a couple years ago. So I did get the

pleasure of meeting and getting to know her pretty well. Actually if

this baby is a girl, I told Bob I'd like to name her after his

mother. So we are set in that area, but a boy's name is still up in

the air, but we have LOTS of time left!

Hope you are having a good weekend with no school!!!!!! :)

Hey Amy, When you say you are counting from the 2ww before conception...do you mean the last day of af? because most things I have read say that is what drs usually go by...but if that was the case, I would be 14wks. I guess I am still alittle confused. 13wk ep 12-00 RE: Janice Hope you don't mind me butting in, but I asked the same question about whenthe 2nd trimester officially begins and everyone here said at week 13 andthen in the pg books that I read as time goes by they all give congrats onbeing in the 2nd trimester at 13 weeks. So 1 more day and you are theregirl!! CONGRATS! Also, yes you are counting the the 2wks before conceptionwhen you say how far along you are.I hope the cramps have subsided and that like you said, it is just a signthe baby is growing and needing more room!!-AmyR13wk3d

From what I know, they calculate edd based on 1st day of last

menstrual period, unless they have reason to believe it could be

different. That way of calculating doesn't account for the majority

of us who do not ovulate on day 14, have longer cycles, or are using

ART. I think gestational age is a better indicator of when you might

deliver (from conception, assuming 38 weeks until delivery).

I know Parentsplace.com has a neat pg caledar which accounts for cyle

length and also has an article about how they calculate due dates.

Trust me though, I would be very surprised if any single woman

anywhere actually delivers on her due date :)

Amy, Hello. Yeah, I must admit, Don does great work and it will definitely help out money wise! I really can't wait to see his ideas too! You are right, we will be able to have anything where we want it, which will be great. After it is all done, I will have to post the pictures. I think we are going to do it in Maple. Yeah, my back bothers me too sometimes, specially at the end of the day and I have thought that too, my goodness, what am I going to feel like by about month 7-8!? The achy-pain on my left side did go away Saturday. The other dr said my keytones (?) were high in my u/s but not sure what that means, I will have to talk to my OB tomorrow. I was going to call my friend who is a MA and we use to work together, but I haven't been able to get ahold of her. I will ask my dr tomorrow about the "real" edd. If the other dr was correct I guess I would be 15wk Wednesday. She said she figured it out by last af, it is confusing, I just can't wait until Dec!! (smile) It is going to be great and it is so nice to have someone else due around the same time! (Janice too) It will be nice! I'll let you know how dr's apt goes. I don't go until 4:15. Take care. Hi Amy!! Thanks alot, I am so glad that things turned out ok. You and Bob have the right idea not to even stress yourself out over that test!! Thanks for being so supportive though the whole mess, I so appreciate it. Uh, yeah, the clothes shopping is coming down to a "must" I can't believe it! Expect some of the clothes seem so expensive to wear for such a short time. Oh well, there is really no way around it. (smile) It is just so darn hot and humid down here, I get so miserable going outside for a long period of time!!! Yuck!!! When do you go back to drs for next apt? Take care. Get more from the Web. Thanks, Amy. It was a very hard decision but I think we did the right thing for us. It would of been unbearable for me, it God Forbid, anything happened, just b/c I wanted to know where we stood, that is just how we felt. Like I said, I feel for anyone who has to make that decision! Of course, I will think about it from time to time, if we did the right thing but I do feel better that it is over and I need to try to relax for the baby. I can't wait to hear about your dr apt Thursday!! Getting the u/s is going to be so cool!! I am waiting for someone from the dr's office to call me about setting up the Level II u/s within the next week or so. Take care. Get more from the Web. Amy, You are right, that is a good way to look at it, I am excited to get the Level II u/s. Even though we went in to have the regular u/s right before my 2nd afp, so it was alittle strained, it was neat to watch Don's face as he watched the screen and saw the baby moving around. He went home and called his parents and told them all about how the baby was opening and closing his/her fist and waving at him. It is funny how men don't always truly think about what is going on in there!! I can't wait to hear Bob's reaction, it should be neat!! Hey, how is his job going? I hope things are still going good. Take care. OMG, 18wks today! Get more from the Web. FREE MSN Explorer download : http://explorer.msn.com
