Guest guest
Hi I am 28 years old and was diagnosed with a didelphic uterus when I was about 22 years old. It's funny because I had routine pap smears from age 18 on and it took untill I was 22 to find my didelpic utuerus on ultrasound. Anyhow, my husband and I are now trying to concieve. I discontinued birth control pills over 2 years ago and we stopped using condoms 9 months ago. No baby yet. We are moving to Ohio soon and I will contact a reproductive endocrinologist at the Cleveland Clinic and have an HSG (hysterosalpingogram) done. Any advice or comments are welcome. It is reasuring to see other women who have Uterine didelphis who have become pregnant and carried healthy children. I have seen SEVERAL reputable OB/GYN's through the years and they all have the same negative things to say since there is really very little literature out there with positive outcomes Thank you for welcoming me ps. I also have 2 working kidneys
Guest guest
Hi there and welcome to the club:o) I have a UD as well, but am surprised to hear about your conceiving problems. I had a m/c in week 11 last october (they say not UD related)and I am now 18 weeks pregnant. All of my gyn have always assumed that conceiving would not be the main problem, but carrying pregnancy to term would be. I am expecting (according to my gyn.) to have a caesarian around 7.5 to 8 months, as she thinks it unlikely I will be able to carry a pregnancy any longer (incompetent uterus may lead to premature birth...) So don't despair a UD is actually one of the misshapes which has a good outlook towards pregnancy. Best of Luck to you! Maya
Guest guest
Hi and welcome! Try not to focus too much on the scary literature you read...UD really does have great pg outcomes! We have a lot of members here to reassure you. And if you go the " photos " folder you will see some of their kids. Sounds like you are really informed. I hope that you find a good dr at Cleveland Clinic. Just make sure that they monitor you closely through a pg. I just wanted to welcome you and wish you lots of luck ttcing. Guest guest
Hi! WOW! I was reading your post and there are so many similarities between us! I am 28, UD and found out about my UD at 21. DH and I have been ttc for 1 1/2 yrs. Good news: I've been pg. twice. Bad news: I've lost them both. Good news: The losses weren't related to UD, just flukes. I don't really have any advice for you at this point--good luck ttc! C 28, UD 2 m/c (9/03, 4/04)
