Guest guest
Just wanted to post my updated info...basically, I had a GREAT pregnancy and labor experience. Had morning sickness for about 5-6 weeks, nothing too serious. Got pregnancy rhinitus (stuffy nose) in January and it lasted until Zach was born, more irritating than anything else. During my last couple of weeks, I caught a cold that turned into a mild case of bronchitus, but my inhaler took care of that. Woke up at 7:15 Am on 4/21, thought I had gas and need to use the bathroom, realized around 8 that they were contractions. Showered, got dressed, call Dr at 9, contractions were about 7 min apart, she said to use my discretion, may want to wait til they were 5 min apart...decided just to go to hospital, got there about 10:30 (it is an hour from my house), was immediately admitted, checked at about 11:15 and was 4-5 cm dilated and fully effaced. Had some MAJOR contractions, got an epidural (thank you, Dr !) around 12:00, checked again, and voila! I was ready to push - by now it was about 12:15-12:30, and Zach was born at 1:13 PM!! No hemorroids, no episiotomy - just a small tear that the dr sewed up. Zach was 7 lb 11 oz, 20.5 inches long. There was a little time when we thought we would need to do a C section (heart rate slowed down), but we were able to have a vaginal birth. The cord was around his neck, and he did have meconium in the amniotic fluid, so they took him out right away and cleaned him up and suctioned him out. Now, here we are almost 4 weeks later (already!) and he weighs about 9.5 pounds (my scale rounds up to nearest 1/2 pound) and doing great! We tried to breastfeed, but couldn't. I had a breast lift about 2 years ago, and my dr reduced the size of my aereola, and we THINK that is what is causing the problems. However, we are both happy with the formula feedings - they are much less stressful and we get to just relax and enjoy each other. Also, I gained about 30#, and by 2 weeks out, I was 10# about my start weight - now I have got to get exercising!! All my best to everyone on the list - wishing you all happy, healthy babies and great pregnancies and labors!! Guest guest
Simonne, Your pregancy sounds like a dream come true, I only hope that I should be as lucky as you. I wanted to ask about the breast lift that you had. How do they do it and where are the scars? Does it hurt? Anything you can tell me would greatly be appreciated. Thanks!
