Guest guest
Having just had the PVA procedure done a week ago at the Cleveland Clinic by Dr. Natale I wouldn't even quess as to how much it costs. Luckily, I have insurance which should cover most of it. When I get a statement, I can give you an idea of what all is involved as far as costs...The one thing I know for sure as most of us do who have had to deal with hospitals and Dr.s is that it was not cheap. For those of you who have insurance, it pays to keep on them about covering the procedure. Aetna initially told me that I was not covered out of state and after many phone calls and research into my policy, they agreed that under the Medical Specialy program they would cover the procedure.I didn't know who Dr. Natale was until I researched many Dr.s and hospitals. The sucess/complication rate is directly related to who is doing the procedure...the more they do, the better they get. My cardiologist here in Fl. told me that if this works for me he is sending the EP specialist in his group up there to train. I can't tell everyone how important it has been for me to have other people to relate to with this debilitating arrhythmia....all of your comments have helped me realize that I am not alone in this...I will keep you posted on my recovery, only 1 week today but no afib. I remain cautiously optimistic...best to all Re: 's PVA Thor ... how much does the procedure, pre-op work,post-op follow-up, etc. for the actual work at the Cleveland Clinic cost? Guest guest
Thor, so glad that everything is going good so far. Like you, if I have to have a " touch up " I wouldn't hesitate. I didn't come this far to go back now. Didn't have a good day yesterday..So many PVC's it was annoying. Sent a transmision to CC to see what was going on and should hear from them this morning. This morning I feel great...no PVC " s, just a nice steady beat which I have come to cherish. I know our hearts can be irritable for awhile, just need some time to heal. I am still very sore but getting better everyday. My best to you and your continued recovery...please keep in touch. Re: Re: COUMADINE RISK/ surgery mary Just to let anyone know that I had PVA procedure 2/24 as a very big surprize to me. I wasn't scheduled until May but got a call from Cleveland Clinic 2/19 and they wanted to add me on so I flew from Fl. to Ohio. I hardly had time to think about it which was probably good. I can't say enough about Dr. Natale and the Cleveland Clinic. They were compassionate and professional all the way. I have to be honest and say that for me, the procedure was not fun at all. I was awake alot of the time(4 hrs), had some post procedure bleeding and don't mean to be gross, but got alot of under the skin bleeding on one groin area and my neck. Had alot of chest pain first 24 hrs. Snip
