Last Friday after dialysis I was really sick. I walked out to my

friends car I was driving and slept for about an hour before I rolled

the window down and threw up everywhere. Then I had to talk myself

into driving the 1 mile to my house and not my friends house which is

only 2 houses past mine. I came in and laid on the couch all day, my

son brought me a container to throw up in and a box of tissues, what

a good kid I have!!! About 3 o'clock my friend came over for her

car, saw me sick on the couch and practicly ran away. I was so sick

I didn't move off of that couch till 9 the next morning. I was

feeling great Saturday morning, then around noon I started running a

temp. When my boyfriend went to work at 4 I told him I was runnin a

temp and he needed to check in on me, he delivers pizzas at a store

1.3 miles from my house. Well about 7 that night my temp was 103.8

and I felt like I was dying so I called him to take me to the ER. I

got to the ER about 7:45pm Saturday night and didn't get a hospital

room until the next morning at 11:00am.

It took them from Saturday till Wednesday to figure out what was

wrong. Today they removed my ash cath and on Monday I'll get a new

one put in. I cried like a baby when they yanked that other cath out.

Well I'm seeing double so it's off to bed for me.

(((((((())))))))) I'm so sorry that you are having such a rough time

of it. I'm glad to hear your boyfriend is available to take you in when and

if you need it. Your son sounds like a true gem especially for as young as

he is. I can't believe you sat in the ER for that long though! Were they

thinking they might send you home and couldn't make up their minds or did

they just not have any open beds until the following morning? I hope they

are able to treat the infection quickly and that your recovery is fast. Are

you going to have a fistula put in soon?

Take care and get plenty of sleep when you can.

Oh sweet ~ As much as Rita's email made me give thanks, yours makes my

heart sink. You have just had the hardest time with dialysis, and to have an

infection on top of that, well, I am just devastated for you.

Your little boy is just so precious. I sometimes think God uses Down's

children to show what loving others really is. My sister-in-law also has downs,

and those afflicted with Downs are just some of the most loving people I have

ever met.

Are they giving you antibiotics for the infection? I am not sure what

happens when your dialysis access gets infected. I am assuming you will have to

have

another catheter put in?

Bless you . I hope you wake up feeling better tomorrow.

Oh man, that's terrible! I'm so sorry that you got so sick .

Did they determine it was the ash catheter that was causing the

problems?

I hope that you are feeling better now.
