Guest guest
Hi Brenta, I was put on Lopressor Oct 2002, I was on it until Feb 2003, for 4 months. I hated it, I had the worst time with it. My ears felt funny at night and I could feel beating in my neck. I was on a higher dose at first, I could not move I had pains in my back my urine turned dark. I felt awful. They then put me on a lower dose that still made me feel funny. I had more AF than usual too. In Feb 2003 I was in the hospital for AF and they said I should not be on Lopressor because I have Vagel AF. I was put on Lopressor by the Cleveland Clinic. From Feb 2003 on I have had hives and what looks like cea off and on sometimes very severe. I really think the Lopressor somehow messed up my immune system. I was also diagnosed with Hashamotos Thyroiditis at that time. I am going to a Rheumatologist soon to see what is wrong with me. I have been to skin doctors, internal med and not they are sending me to Rheumatologist. I did not have high blood pressure, they gave me the Lopressor they said for my AF. It stopped the AF while in ER very fast but I don't know why I stayed on it. Guest guest
---> Hi Louise, I take Toprol XL (another name for lopressor) and it seems to be work ing well for me. I have been told by cardio's that it is one of the mildest and best of its kind. At first I didn't think it was working as I had more break through attacks, but of late it seems to have settled in, and I am doing well on it. (Of course I have had much prayer also, so can't give the meds all the credit) There may be some side effects such as lack of energy etc. But I think most of the drugs have some side effects, and the Toprol seems to have the least dangerous side effects as far as I can see. I know it has been much easier on my stomach than the verapamil that I used to take. How many mg. do you take per day? Are you on any other meds? How long have to had fib? You can e-mail me if you like to mandyofca@... Mandy of CA

Guest guest
I take 240 mg of Cardizem every morning at 4 to 5 AM and about 6 to 7 I get these awful headaches that lost most of the day. Can anyone tell me anything about this? Thanks, Louise
