Guest guest
Hi Val- Thanks for the response! 1. Ferritin in the 220s. So no problem there. 2. I did a salivary cortisol having gone 2 days sans cortef and the results were all in range. 3. All my morning blood work cortisol level are within range too. I have been taking RELORA- but my understanding is that it can be used for just keeping cortisol normal versus lowering my levels. I thought the low TSH was normal for supplementing.... I guess not. I did have a phone consult with Dr. Lowe and he really thought that Cytomel only was a reasonable approach- though of course my doctor is horrified by it. > > TSH: 0.01 > TOTAL T4: 3.9 (4.5-12.5) > FREE T4: 0.7 (0.8-1.8) > TOTAL T3: 91 (97-219) > FREE T3: 221 (230-420) > RT3: 23 (11-32) > > Yes even wiht low thyroid levels you have an RT3 problem. Is that not correct? Was the 17.6 a typo? Also, I just got my cynomel from Mexico (25mcg tablets), which I've been swallowing with water. I've searched everywhere on the net to see if these will dissolve sublingually -- does anyone on the list know for sure because they do it that way? Thanks for the help! Or can you just put a half (or quarter) tab in one piece under your tongue? If so, how long is 'a little while' to dissolve? Do you end up swallowing what little is left? I've never taken anything sublingually, so I'm not sure exactly how it works or what it feels like.

Guest guest
Either way- I suspect then Thyroid Resistance is absolutley correct- maybe then its much worse- though I thought there needed to be a conversion in mumbers as they are measured in different units. Guest guest
YES thyroid meds DO supress TSH BUT only to a point. Look at my labs for instance., I am on 125mcgT3 shoudl be enough to really supress TSH huh? Guest guest
Hi Val!!!! YAY! Thanks for your sppedy reply. I will have to see how my labs look with just the T3 and Iodoral. Maybe I was getting swamped with the 4 grains of compounded NT and not necessarily getting anything from the slow release compounded T3- as Dr. Lowe said often the compounded meds are questionable in potency. Seem plausible??? In any event I do feel remarkable different with just T3 and Iodoral and look forward to progress. Depression lifted- and I swear I already LOOK better- the " BUHDDA BELLY " getting smaller.... > > YES thyroid meds DO supress TSH BUT only to a point. Guest guest
I question the potency of ANY compounded T3 medications. It seems it is a difficult thing for them to get right and only a few pharmacies seem able to do it. Guest guest
Bummer- RELORA has made all my CARB cravings disapear!! Example 1. Blood work drawn at 8am 10/22: 17.3 (4.0-22.0) And I just had a tiff with some dude at the blood lab. ----------------------------------------------------- Example 2. Blood work drawn at 8am 8/28 15.5 (4.0-22.0) I am pretty sure I was still taking my 10mgs Cortef during this time- but did not take it before the test. --------------------------------------------------- Example 3. Blood work drawn at 8am 9/7 2007!!!! Before any meds. 9.7 (7.0-18.0) -------------------------------------------------------- Example 4.. Saliva Test 2 days with ZERO cortef. 8/16/09 Morning 10 (3.7-9.5) Noon 1.6 (1.2-3.0) Evening 1.5 (0.6-1.9) Night 0.5 (0.4-1.0) When I first started cortef at 20mgs/day - for the first 4-5 weeks I swore I found salvation!!! I lost weight finally- mind you- I work out every day and eat " right " I am a (drug free) bodybuilder- so I am not someone who expects to lose weight just because they take thyroid meds. Then I came to a stand still- so I tried MORE cortef- up to about 30 mgs and the carb cravings were out of control and I was bloated and gaining weight- all my saliva tests were high- based on a scale for people supplementing- so my Naturopathic Doctor claimed. I back off to 10mgs (5mgs at 9am and 1pm) and stayed there for a long time. Tried a few times to get off- but probably weaned too soon and felt tired... Long story short- my Thyroid levels never really got stabilized and I seemed to have hormonal imbalances that persisted. > > IN RANGE s nto where cortisol needs ot be and Relora has sent more than > ONE ot the hospital for low cortisol.
