Guest guest
Sometime I think people assume if you have Graves that you will have huge eyes... thats not always the case ~ If you dont have huge eyes they assume you dont have Graves (just what Ive noticed about how people view graves) I wish it wasnt the case for me but unfortunatly I have the eye problem!! > > Kit, > > I had dentists tell me I didn't look GD.. Guest guest
I think they are referring to exophthamus eyes. Or retracted lids like Barbara Bush has. The skin on my hands and arms sometimes looks like crepe paper, but I have fewer wrinkles in my face than I did ten years ago. (I am 42, people often tell me I look younger than that. I HOPE not just out of pity for an old lady! LOL) --- Hendricksom wrote: > > Kit, > > I had dentists tell me I didn't look GD.. > Used to wonder what he meant.. Guest guest
Kit, Yes, knew they meant the eyes..lol.. The skin on my arms and hands r like yours but my legs, calfs are drying out... As far as my face..well some days look way younger then my 51 but sometimes look ancient... Or maybe it's just how I feel... Looking forward to this weekend, son is paying to have my hair styled so that should be a big boost to me... I have lost some weight, has to be all the pushing I have been doing to exercise.. Reading these posts has helped me not feel so alone... Sometimes I still feel like screaming because I'm still angry over not being given a choice or at least told the truth by the endo about RAI... Guest guest
Becki, How soon after diagnosis did you get RAI? Guest guest
Kit, I went into hospital on a mon. night in thyroid storm.. No Dr. would believe when I told them something was wrong with my thyroid... The following tues. I had RAI... In fact I begged another doctor to release me from hospital the fri before and the endo came into my room screaming at me... Said I only wanted to go home to have a cigg... I did go home.. Just wanted in my own bed... I knew of no place to go to talk about what I was going thru, was too weak and sick to care... Trusted the doctor and the radiologist... My big mistake... Yet my son also blames himself because he feels he should of been taking care of me since I couldn't take care of myself... I could bearly walk, was on massive doses of beta blockers, recovering from storm, flu, and brochitis.. and they gave me the I-131... To add insult to injury I had lost my bowels on my way home... Went down hill fast with one complication after another... That endo never asked me any questions... Not about my eyes..nothing... Just told me what I was going to do... Stupid me... Guest guest
Becki, Sorry to hear you went through such a hard time. I can't believe these jerks. How dare they treat people so badly. No wonder they are always getting their butts sued off. Kit --- Hendricksom wrote: > > Kit, > > I went into hospital on a mon. night in > thyroid storm..
