May I wish the blessing of Ireland follow you wherever you go and may the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, fall into you hands and never remain empty. Nick is 73..just 27 years to go and who says thats the end of the line. Happy St paddys Day Nick & Jane

Guest guest
Sindee, In many ways I felt my prayers were answered. My husband was very alert until the end. It took almost two weeks of being in the hospital before my husband's onc sat me down and told me that the situation was not good. She said that he might not make it. She then discussed this with my husband because he was so alert and aware. At that point I dialed his sister and his brother's phone numbers so that he could talk to them and tell them goodbye. We were then able to say our goodbyes to each other --- I let my husband know that he had made all of my dreams come true. I know that there aren't many people who can say this, but it is true. I am so blessed. I continued to see him througout the day. I could see that he was getting wrestless and he told me he felt horrible. I left a few minutes in the evening because I was feeling weak and hadn't eaten all day. The nurse said she would allow me to see him until she ended her shift at midnight. About 45 minutes later, maybe less, the nurse called me to say that his heart rate and breathing had changed and that I should come down to see him. I got there just in time. He began to struggle and I let him know that is was OK ... to die. And then he was gone. It was painful, but I felt peace. I knew he was no longer suffering and that if anyone would go to heaven, he would. He was such a great man and did so much for this world. (He was written up in the NYTimes on Tuesday.) Now I celebrate his life, his work, and the wonderful opportunity I had to be a part of it. > > My husband died on Saturday evening, 3/13 at 8:30 p.m. in ICU. Guest guest
-I will add my voice to send my sympathies your way. I hate to hear that someone has lost their battle with this disease, may you find peace in your memories of the good times and know that others are remembering you in their thoughts and prayers.-- In colon_cancer_support , " lhoraist " <lhoraist@m...> wrote: > My husband died on Saturday evening, 3/13 at 8:30 p.m. in ICU. Guest guest
What a marvelous way to express yourself. I read a few lines of the poem that priscilla Savoy wrote and it was beautiful.. You have the same way with words. Peace comes to people who are kind of heart and spirit, and you will miss your " soul mate " but what a wonderful thing to be able to tell him so. Thank you for all your support and I hope you stay in touch Nick & Jane
