VERY OT..but can you help support our Soldiers???

Hi everyone! I sure hope you don't mind me going WAY off topic here,

but this is something I am trying to get out there to everyone I

know. I thought this list would be a great place to spread the word.

If I am out of line, please let me know.

I recently signed up for a program that links civilians to soldiers

serving in other countries. It is basically a pen-pal type of thing.

You get assigned a soldier, who you send letters/cards/care packages

to. These are soldiers who are serving in places like Bosnia and

Kosovo...mine is in the Balkans. These guys/gals are far from home

and getting mail really helps raise their spirits. It also makes it

easier for them...less homesickness as well. It doesn't take much

time to write a letter each week and what it does for those soldiers

is so worth it!

The policy is that married people can't be assigned single soldiers,

and single people can not get married soldiers. So, there is much

need right now for married people/families/organizaions (schools,

churches, etc.) to adopt some of the married soldiers serving in

Kosovo, Bosnia, and Macedonia. If any of you are interested, all you

do is go to the website and read through the process. Basically you

email them and tell them you are interested. They will email you with

the info, then let you know when they have a soldier for you. I was

assigned my soldier within days. I can't tell you how excitted I am

about this! I LOVE to write and the idea of helping make someone

smile is a great feeling!!
