I actually wrote an email complaining about the high prices of the

GF Bakehouse products in California that was forwarded to my local

palo alto store, who then forwarded it to their bakery. I doubt

anything useful will come of it, but I thought it was important to

get an email out there. I have decided not to buy any more of their

GF Bakehouse products for three reasons- 1) I can bake things that

taste as good if not better on my own, with the exception of the

sundried tomato bread, which I am going to try to replicate 2) The

price is just too darned high for my beloved ST bread and 3) Because

the price is so high, and my local store doesn't freeze the products

but leaves them out, I have noticed that they seem to be pretty dry

by the time I get to them- I.e. their turnover has slowed and they

are sitting out too long. If I'm going to pay that much, I want them

to be as fresh (or frozen, haha) as possible. I tried to be really

positive and tell them that I support their efforts and think it is

great that they make these products, but that I can't afford to pay

that much for their shipping/ transport/ freezers. They really need

a west coast bakery! With all the resources that WF has, I think

they could do a better job of getting his products out there to

people at a reasonable price. (Darn California prices anyway- When I

went to the local King Soopers in Colorado I was shocked by how a

lot of things were noticably cheaper, including Thai kitchen

noodles.)
