Guest guest
These stitches are dissloving stitches that should disappear or fall off with time. I believe mine lasted five weeks and at 10 weeks the stitches were no where to be found. Also the injections are blood thinners, and I do not remember what the drug was called. And as the others have said, the shots are not a problem since the needle is very small and thin. Once your fat is pinched, you will only feel a very slight prick if at all. Also, you are to take two injection the day before you travel, two the day of travel, and two the day after travel. And of course, you are to clean the area before hand with an alcohol pad which are given with the shots. Michigadar Mike bilateral, Dr.DeSmet, April 1, 2003 > I am now 3 weeks Post-op from Dr. De Smet and the outer stitches are still in my 12 " wound, ready to come out. > My family doctor refused to take them out (I promptly refused to pay for the visit and promptly started looking for another doctor) because he said it looked like a single long nylon stitch (12 " long) with the other end of the wound as the other end of the stitch. He suggested going to the emergency room! No wonder surgery cost 1/3 in Belgium what it is here! > > Has anyone taken their own stitch out, and can you give me some directions. Dr. De Smet, as great as he is, was very garbled and general about all of this, and gave me no confidence to remove them myself (with help, as opposed to a doctor). > > Thank you for any help. > > > Blum LBHR De Smet 05/20/03 > > >
