Guest guest
Hello everyone, My name is Lindsey (or Auwon, I go by both) and my mom passed away from colon cancer last July. I am 22 and I had just moved out a few days before my mom passed away. So far I think I've been doing well on my own-got a new job, started in a new school, made new friends, etc. But some days seem harder to get by than others. My boyfriend reccomended joining a support group of cancer survivors or something similiar to that, but I know right now I could not physically join a group, because the mere thought of my mom makes me break down in tears. So as an alternative, I think joining a group online could do some help, where I have a much easier time typing out my feelings than saying them outloud. I hope to meet and chat with some of you and share my feelings of my loss. Lindsey
Guest guest
Lindsey- I am so sorry to hear about your loss. It is always tough to loose a loved one, especially when you are so young. I have lost both my mother and father in the last 10 yrs, but I am 48. At this stage in your life, I am certain you were hoping to be able to share the new things in your life with your mom. Grief takes time to work through, and tears are OK. For me, time has lessened the pain, but not the memories of the good times. Take care, Kris
