Guest guest
The Question was raised on Hydroxyapatite (HA) coating on certain resurfacing prostheses. I have done a little digging and came up with the following: http://www.aaos.org/wordhtml/anmeet93/scipro/ppr394.htm This is from the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons 1993 Meeting and mentions an FDA approved study. See also http://www.fda.gov/cdrh/pdf2/k023409.pdf This is from Biomet Orthepedics Inc. and is a Summary of Safety & Effectiveness regarding an HA coated THR. See also http://www.centerpulseorthopedics.com/us/products/hip/natural_hip/index This is from Centrepulse Orthopedics Inc who specify HA on their cementless THR stem. The list could go on and on from what I've seen on American, British, Swedish and German sites. Rog
