Anne Marie,

Welcome. You are doing great. My baby's birthday was also May 11th, he's 12 :( . I also overloaded it, but like you am right back on track. I actually start Curves today, so we'll see how that helps. I've went from 278.5 to now 206.5 in about a year and a half. Now, not all this was on the Beach, but I do love this way of eating.

Anyway, just wanted to say hey. OH, I'm from FL, too. We were from a small town about an hour N of Tampa, but moved to Tennessee 3 years ago.

Keep up the good work

My name is Anne Marie and I currently live in the greater Daytona Beach Area in Florida. I've been married to a great guy for about 9 1/2 years. My daughter just had her first birthday on May 11. She is our one and only! I am 40 years old and I am on the obese list. I was in an auto accident in 2000 and have numberous physical problems such as Fibromyalgia, Occipital Nuralgia, Torn disk in my lower back, a buldging disk in my neck, and my face arms and legs are numb.

My starting weight was 228lbs. My doctor put me on Phentermine 37.5mg. I don't quite follow his directions of one pill a day in the morning. I usually take 1 pill every other day. It really helps, but I found when I take one pill a day - it is just too much and I totally forget to eat anything and that is NOT healthy.

This is my second time on Phentermine. The first time I was on it my starting weight was 249 and I got down to 213 and then I got pregnant and had to go off all my meds.

I had been on the Adkins diet and did ok on it, but I really did not feel it was very healthy. I did much research and felt that the South Beach Diet was the way to go for me this time. Plus, everyone in my household (except for the baby) is on the diet with me, and that makes planning and cooking so much easier.

I have been on the diet for 3 weeks now. My first two weeks went great until my daughter's birthday party, but after that one day of carb overload, I am back on track. I did not start Phase 1 again though. My starting weight this time was 228 lbs. As of my weigh in Friday morning I was 216. WOOT!!

Well, I guess I have bored you enough. I look forward to learning a lot from you!!

Take care and happy weight loss~~

Hello, everyone! My name is Lois, and I'm a breast cancer survivor.

I was diagnosed last August with " invasive mammary carcinoma, no

particular kind " in my right breast and ILC, DCIS, and atypical

hyperplasia in the left. I started out with lumpectomies and right

sentinel node biopsy (before we knew about the ILC). Nodes were

clear but margins were close and then we had the issue of invasive

cancer in the left that wasn't caught in the biopsy. Went back a

month later for bilateral mastectomies with reconstruction (tissue

expanders and implants). I might add at this point that I was

already a cancer survivor (non-Hodgkins lymphoma) and already had an

oncologist. It was at her PA's insistence that I got my mammograms

up to date and was diagnosed with the BC.

I started AC in October - had four rounds of that - and finished in

December. Started tamoxifen in February. April 24 I will have my

exchange surgery AND a hysterectomy at the same time. In all of this

whirlwind of testing for the BC staging, they found a thickened

endometrial stripe and sent me to a gynecologist. Not only do I have

that, but I also have a fibroid! So we're going to take everything

out. After that, my oncologist will switch me to Arimidex.

I'm beginning to feel better and am gradually regaining my

equilibrium. I'm a teacher by profession, but thanks to the BC, I've

only been in the classroom 5 days this school year. My doctors have

advised me not to return to work until school begins in August so

that I give myself plenty of time to heal. My principal is okay with

this - he's told me to concentrate on getting well.

My hair is beginning to grow back and I'm looking - and feeling -

more like myself.

I'm happy to be here and look forward to getting to know you guys.

~Lo
