Guest guest
Yes it migh tbe worth trying. But why not start some T3 now as well. Not at the same time but T3 first and thne HC reduciton in a few days. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/
Guest guest
I have been battling this problem myself and it has not alleviated with messing with my HC doses. I think it's due to high RT3 and that seems to be the consensus between the boards. If you are on Armour or NatureThroid which I was...increasing that didn't do anything either. If anything I think it made it worse for me, because it just added to me making more RT3. Salt did nothing either. The more HC and Armour I tried, the worse it seemed to make things. Less HC didn't work either. I've only been on T3 since Tuesday but this symptoms seems to be slightly better already and I am hoping this gets rid of it. I did not have the symptoms previously on dessicated when I was not on HC but I also didn't have RT3 this high or thyroid labs so bad during that time. So for me... when Val told me it was due to low thyroid it made sense. And it seems to be true from the improvements I am seeing on the T3. Hope it helps to know you aren't the only one with this symptom. and that if your RT3 is high, that's probably the issue.... Jan > > My heart has been pounding and chest feeling tight since I started Isocort/HC 3 months ago. This happens even if I'm just sitting reading a book. My temps were stable on 15 mg HC with 12 pellets Isocort and even then my heart was pounding. I tried using just cream to see if it was something in the Isocort causing the pounding but it didn't make a difference. > > I'm up to 25 mg HC now in a combination of cream and Isocort as recommended by Diane at NTHAdrenals when it seemed like my temps were goofy but I don't think they actually were, I think I was just goofy since you (Val) said they were fine. I'm taking 1 1/2 gr of compounded thyroid but I'm pretty sure I really need just Cytomel. Doc doesn't want to switch until his lab tests come back. I don't know why he won't just use the ones I had done before I started Armour since the Armour/Erfa wouldn't have cleared out the RT3 at all. > > My doc said I likely don't need as much HC as I'm taking. According to him my cortisol levels were not bad and it sounded like he wouldn't have treated them at all. They were: > > Morning 6.4 (range 3.7-9.5) > Noon 1.4 (range 1.2-3.0) > Evening 0.8 (range 0.6-1.9) > Night 0.6 (range 0.4-1.0) > > I asked about weaning off and he said to just leave it for now. I didn't mention the heart pounding/tightness. > > People here and at NTHAdrenals have said the pounding could be a hypot symptom and that increasing thyroid would help. It hasn't. In fact, it might be getting worse. It can't be good for my heart and it is driving me crazy. > > I know that adrenals need to be well supported for T3 only meds but given the pounding would it be worth it to do some decreases of the HC to see if that is the problem? >
Guest guest
Take the T3 in addition to the desiccated or in place of it? I was using Erfa so I knew what the T3 level was in that but in the compounded I don't know. I have some cynomel so it would be easy for me to do T3. What dose of T3 would you recommend and should I keep taking the desiccated or stop that? > > Yes it migh tbe worth trying. But why not start some T3 now as well.
