Guest guest
, Thanks for your feedback. Right now I have to be seen at the Veterans Hospital in Iowa, since I am a Veteran, however, I have learned through this site that if the doctors at the VA hospital cant help then I have the right to be seen by a specialist and the VA will have to pay. That was great news to hear, I just dont know how hard it is going to be to convince the VA that I need a specialist. I know how military doctors can be. It can be like pulling teeth to get a recommendation to see another doctor. But, I have come this far and I cant see giving up now. I will let you know what happens. heidi

Guest guest
Heidi, your size should not be a problem. i am also 5 feet tall, and i weigh 112 pounds. i also have a tiny uterus. i have been to many obs and re drs in the last year, none had a problem! my understanding is that after 5 years, it gets a bit more tricky, but it is surely not impossible to treat! definately try to see an a list! susan hlani2@... wrote: to anyone who might have some insight,i just had a pelvic ultrasound and was told that i am hard to read due to my size. i have heard this before, but don't get any clear answers from the doctors. i am not a midget, i am 5 ft tall and weigh 120 - 125. i wouldn't think that my organs are hard to see due to my size, but then again, i am not the doctor. has anyone else ever had this problem. my next situation is that i stopped menstruating in 1994, had my first surgery in 1996. was unsuccessful. had another surgery in 1997 and had scare tissue removed. had another surgery in 2000, was told that everything was still open. during all of these years i never had a cycle, even with hormones. finally had a cycle in 2001 from july to december like clockwork. all of this was performed by military doctors, i never heard of things like using the "balloon" . i am now out of the military and interested in seeking an A-list doctors, i am looking into Dr. Valle. is it worth it? i mean since it has been many years of unsuccessful surgeries and cycles, does anyone have any thoughts that he will be able to help me or think that i have waited to long to see a "professional". i don't want to set myself up for failure. please help.thank you,heidihlani2@... Guest guest
Heidi, I had my child in Jan 99 with a D & C 4 weeks later. This was the beginning of my Asherman's journey, even though I did not know I had scarring in my uterus until March 2002. I never had a period since before getting pregnant and I just had surgery Aug 2002. What I am saying is that my surgery was 3 and a half years after the original cause of the AS and so far, I would have to say, my surgery was successful in removing the scarring & opening my uterus and cervix. I do think that going to an A-list doctor has made a world of difference in my case and it probably would in yours as well. Nobody is a miracle worker, but if you have a severe case with a long history of surgeries, etc, it is extremely difficult for any doctor to repair you so you should probably start with the most experienced, most highly trained and skilled hysterscopist we are aware of. Please try to contact one of them for a consult. I wish you the best of luck.........nancy w
