Just wanted to apologize, a, for not responding to your request

for info on doctors in the Milwaukee area. Vivian gave you Dr. 's

name and phone number and we all feel that she is fantastic.

I have been away from my normal routine and don't know when I will get

back to it. Things are really challenging right now. We are still

trying to get coordinated to get a ramp built so we can bring

home from the hospital, but the thought really frightens me at this

point. We have made a lot of progress with her son (verbally,

socially, etc) and I am a bit anxious about Mommy feeling displaced.

I have also been dealing with other issues. My doctor has given me

strict orders not to drive a vehicle until I can be evaluated for

probable sleep disorder. We don't think it is apnea but we really

don't know what it is. It involves sleepwalking, sleep eating, falling

(while asleep but usually no longer in bed) and sleeping in any kind

of seated position (even in the dentist's chair -- go figure!) I have

been through the neuro work up and am scheduled for my initial sleep

study but will probably have to have an additional one, too.

So, I am a pain in the ass to my family because someone else has to

take me everywhere! And I am tired all of the time. (I even started

dozing at work, but my boss is being wonderful and knows I am being

evaluated prior to treatment).

On the up side, my UCLA daughter and I are working on self improvement

and self image and we joined Weight Watchers at the beginning of May.

I have lost almost 22 lbs and she has lost 11. We have about 130

(combined) left to go.

So, while I keep up with all of you, I haven't been responding much

and do apologize. Know that there is a sleepy (but lighter) person in

Illnois wishing all of the best to each of you.

I remain, respectfully, in " Lurker Mode " --

I will keep you in my thoughts as you deal with all your issues. I am glad

your grandson is making progress. Just an idea for the sleep study - wear

pajamas or sweats instead of a nightgown. During my first one, they had to

wake me up to replace the leg sensors because one leg would catch the wires

on the other and pull them loose. I wore sweats the second time and had no

problems like that.
