Guest guest
Hi , The only life insurance I have been able to get is what is standard for all employees through work. I tried several times but since my first attempt in 1979 when I was rejected for having protein in my urine. Sorry I can't be more encouraging. Guest guest
Hi I'll let someone else answer about the life insurance. I think someone mentioned not too long ago that they did find a company that offered it - probably with some limitations and/or a higher price though. About not wanting to be obsessed and worried over your condition... That's perfectly understandable. Believe it or not, even though i started this group myself a few years ago, I've often felt that there is a fine line between being informed, and obsessing over it. I think your point of view on it is very reasonable. Good luck in finding insurance. Guest guest
I totally understand the feeling of becoming obsessed with things. Living your life the way you are most comfortable is the most important thing. Poneyboy found a company that would consider us. Here is part of the original message from Poneyboy regarding the insurance company he found that would grant coverage: " they are covering me and I have IgAN and Bipolar disorder both. $200,000 for $42.00 a month for 20 years it is Zander insurance company they connected me to a company that took me. the # to Zander is 1- again I do not work for or have any stake in this company but they do take cases with kidney illness and mood disorders. They also offer disability insurance so if u are currently working and may lose ur job in the future do to a transplant coming up they will pay ur current salary till age 65. " It's worth giving them a call and finding out if they can cover you. Good luck! Amy G. Guest guest
Hi , I, too, can't help you regarding life insurance. I can understand your feeling about obsession with the disease. There are some days when I just can't log on. There are so many things that happen to folks with IgaN and like everyone I worry about the future. I have lived through the worst of it with many complications. Some days I just can't relive it when I hear of all the difficulties most have. I try to relate the positive things that happen to me and present those to the group. It is discouraging to hear some of the desperate calls for help and I can't respond. Good luck finding insurance, but if you can't, you must stop worrying - as you know worrying doesn't help. Gloria > Hi > > I'll let someone else answer about the life insurance.
