Guest guest
Well, earlier this month, as some of you know, I moved my mother and grandmother to little rock. I am also working 7 days a week, and then got a notice from the city about my yard, that got rather tall while I was working and moving everyone so I have been having to do yard work as well. Sigh. Anyway, needless to say, things have been rather INTERESTING around here. To top it all off, my mother and grandmother are having difficulty adjusting to Little Rock, esp. my mother, mainly because she is blind, (from being diabetic) and has some memory issues. This means she has difficulty finding her way around her apartment. My grandmother also has the memory issues, but seems to be improving overall with coq and b vitamins added to her diet April is having to grow up rather rapidly, because she is having to help. This is both good and bad. Good that she is learning responsibility, bad that she is being stressed. The stress is beginning to have a toil on me as well. 12 hour days 7 days a week are hard. Fortunately, next week I am off with one of my clients so I will hopefully have some relaxation time. I am also having my son down for a week that week. I am also planning on getting done all those things I havent been able to this summer, while I have been working so hard. I will be grateful for one of my clients to go back to college, although I will miss her, because it will mean more hours to do the things I need to do. That wont be till the end of August however. Of course, that will also mean I will be needing to finish the estate work, and start college paperwork, in order to get in next spring. Sound fun yet? <G> btw any suggestions on how to deal with two dementia ridden people whose (verbal) fighting with each other makes some of those old western families' feuds seem mild in comparison. I might point out that my mother is a bit mental anyway. Anyone volunteering to help? <G> Btw. pray I make it through till less work hours arrive! Right now my schedule is as follows : Get up, take care of my multitude of animals (including the four of wendy's I am babysitting till she gets back from a funeral) and the four I recently adopted or they would have had to go to the shelter, plus my original 10) go help mother with breakfast, set out her food for lunch, feed cat, do minor housework things such as throwing away diet coke cans, taking out trash, then go to grandmother's do minor things there, as well as give her her medicine, then depending on the day, either go to work at first client's, then head to second client's, then head back to first client's, while if there is a break in between, taking care of more things for mother/grandmother, then after first client, giving my grandmother her evening dose of meds, (sometimes April does this) then taking my mother's blood sugar, then finally heading home. Did I mention I have to fit in shopping for them a couple of times a week, taking them out occasionally, doing their laundry, along with mine and April's, and one of the client's, in the middle of all this? Of course, only two to three times a week do I have morning work with first client, and the second client is only five times a week, and the first client is five evenings a week as well. It gets interesting. Btw anyone want to adopt a pretty, sweet, half black lab? He is one of the four animals I recently took in to prevent him being sent to animal shelter, but wish to adopt him out, along with two other animals. Meantime, I am still getting things arranged for more care for them, although much is in place. Anyway, this is my update. Pray I dont have a crash any time soon, tho I am threatening to... Guest guest
I think I just had a crash reading what you are doing. I don't know how you are doing it. I wouldn't make it through one day like yours. Hugs and positive thoughts are coming your way. laurie > > Reply-To: > Date: Thu, 31 Jul 2003 20:36:21 -0500 > To: <adultmito > > Cc: < > > Subject: Update on my family > > Well, earlier this month, as some of you know, I moved my mother and > grandmother to little rock.
