Guest guest
I just looked up the diagnosis that my neuro put on for blood test. The name of it is leukoenephalopathy…I looked it up on the internet…this is what it say all over the place, Leukoenephalopathy or pml… " PML is an uncommon demyelinating disease that occurs in immuno-compromised patients (lymphoma, leukemia, carcinomatosis, AIDS). The incidence of PML in adult AIDS-patients has been estimated to be up to 4%. PML is caused by central nervous system infection by group B Human Papovaviruses (-Creutzfeldt virus, simian virus 40), destroying principally oligodendroglia, thus resulting in extensive demyelination. The clinical manifestations are those of multiple, progressively enlarging lesions of the cerebral and cerebellar fiber systems: motor system abnormalities, visual loss, dementia and ultimately death, occur four to six months after onset. " Gee…don’t you think that someone would have even mentioned to me that I “was really sick,” let alone put a label like that on me? So…if this is true, I could bit the bullet any time??? Sorry, I know that we all die sometime, but I’m a little, confused (appropriately so) by this. Any comments? vivian
