Guest guest
Hi Everyone.. Mimi gave me permission to fwd this! Jodi SCD 15 months Crohn's/Colitis ===================================== IMPORTANT/ Kirkman Supplements I am repeating a post so that no one would miss it. NEW INFO HAS BEEN ADDED. The following Kirkman Vitamins are no longer SCD legal. I called Kirkman and they confirmed that this is true. TMG 500 mg with Folinic Acid & Methyl B-12 - Hypoallergenic 294/200 DMG with Folinic Acid & B-12 - Hypoallergenic 295/200 TMG with Folinic Acid & B-12 - Hypoallergenic Kirkman Multiple Vitamin Pro-Support has removed " no starch " from the label. Someone called to find out why and was told that the chemist says there is a trace amount of starch from the vitamin E. I have not yet had the time to verify if there are other changes. We do not know which Kirkman vitamins are SCD compliant. We need to talk to the head of Kirkman. We were told on the phone by the staff of Kirkman that the company specializes in supplements for GFCF. We hope that one day, the Kirkman supplements will be tested for SCD. We hope that an autism organization will start the project to test foods and supplements for compliance with SCD. Freeda and GIProhealth are the only companies that have products that are made especially for SCD. Freeda has about 4 supplements for SCD, these supplements contain the word " SCD " on the label. Elaine helped Freeda to produce these products. We are not sure about the other Freeda supplements. Most of the supplements from GIProhealth are SCD legal. GIProhealth clearly advises customers as to which supplements are SCD compliant. I strongly recommend that company. We also want to investigate Pure Encapsulations.....seems promising.............but have not yet investigated it. The DAN doctors send us the most challenging cases; the kids whose guts have failed to heal with other protocols. These kids are sensitive to the smallest amount of starch or sugar because their guts are very damaged. Most supplement companies need to understand this. We hope to one day write a memo to the supplement companies that serve the autism community. Mimi
