Guest guest
Hi , We live in NY. We are from Long Island but now live upstate. It would be pretty wild if you knew him. Tara Re: Hi Hi Tara, This is kind of a weird question, but would you mind saying what state you are in? I know a guy from back where I am from named Dan that has a deaf daughter and is a stay-at-home dad. I dont know his wifes name though....so I thought it might be pretty wild if it was you all! She has a bilateral mild to moderate hearing loss. > > Dan and I are finally felling back to so called normal. Last year was rough with all the emotions, information gathering , and the many decisions to be made. The IEP meetings are very stressful. Deanna, on the other hand has been fantastic and very accepting of everything. She loves her hearing aids and enjoys speech therapy (most of the time), Deanna seems more confident now. She goes to gymnastics and can't wait to start kindergarten in the fall. > > Thanks for accepting me into your group. > >

Guest guest
LOL, would have been very wild, but the Dan I know is in CO. Its a small world so I figured you never know until you ask :)meet you just the same though! Thanks Tara, and again welcome! Deanna sounds like she is adjusting well. My son was diagnosed at 2 with his loss, then didnt get hearing aids until he was 5. He's always been wonderful with them and takes wonderful care of them. He really gets a good gain from his aids and for having a profound loss speaks well. He was mainstreamed until we moved here to WA (we were in CT before)and the home school here was horrible so we moved to a private school for the deaf in Seattle. They utilize SEE/oral and its been wonderful for our son. He is entering his 3rd year there. Previously we have tried auditory-verbal, total communication and ASL. s a very visual kid so the sign works really well for him, but he likes to voice also so its all working out J Bangor WA mom to , 10, severe/profound loss, bicross aids, asthma, SID , 8, speech therapy ph, 5, speech therapy > Hi , > > We live in NY. Guest guest
Hi Soujanya, The spots you describe sound like they are they type common with HSP. You should mention it to your doctor just so your Nephrologist is aware. I am among our members who has both HSP and IgAN myself. I wish you all the best with your biopsy tomorrow. Guest guest
I am an anomaly in that I do not get the characteristic purple rash, but I do have HSP. Most people with HSP do get it, but I am afraid I can't share from experience how long the spots last. Guest guest
Greetings Kandyis, You may want to check and see if a history of PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease) runs in your family. This can be determined by family history, and an ultrasound of your kidneys to see if there are any cysts. Normal kidneys will have cysts but PKD kidneys have cysts that will be a bit larger. Other than that, I can't think of why it would be connected, unless large anatomy runs in your family. Some people are just genetically different. Certain people for example are born with floating this and it's on the wrong side that... what do your doctors say about this?? Welcome, hi just joined whats parathyroid blood test and dose enlarged kidneys go with hypothroid? kandyis
Guest guest
Parathyroids are in the same region as the thyroid, but are not related to the thyroid in any way. Parathyroids make it so calcium goes to our bones. The test they'll do on you probably will check your calcium. I don't know about enlarged kidneys, sorry. jane > > just joined whats parathyroid blood test and dose enlarged kidneys go > with hypothroid? kandyis

Guest guest
<Parathormone, PTH (Parathyroid Hormone) Test Test Overview A parathyroid hormone (PTH) blood test measures the level of parathyroid hormone to help diagnose hyperparathyroidism or to determine the cause of abnormal calcium levels in the blood. PTH is produced by the parathyroid glands , which are four pea-sized glands embedded in the thyroid gland. PTH regulates calcium and phosphorus levels in the blood. If the blood calcium level is too low, the parathyroid glands release more PTH. This causes the bones to release more calcium into the blood and reduces the amount of calcium released by the kidneys into the urine. In addition, vitamin D is converted to a more active form, causing the intestines to absorb more calcium and phosphorus. If the calcium level is too high, the parathyroid glands release less PTH, and the whole process is reversed. Abnormally high or low levels of PTH can affect kidney function, bone integrity, and calcium and vitamin D levels. Tests for calcium and phosphorus levels in the blood may be done at the same time.> Gossimer > > just joined whats parathyroid blood test and dose enlarged kidneys go > with hypothroid? kandyis >
