Guest guest
Hi I read these lists faithfully, but rarely post. I restarted Atkins 3 weeks ago and have lost 11 pounds so far! The tips, ideas, and understanding here is wonderful!! For me Carbs are probably equivalent to alcohol or cigarettes to folks who are addicted to them. When I'm not eating low carb, I have absolutely no control over food----my life literally revolves around what I'm fixing for supper or where werre going to eat when we go out. I'm 39 and have literally been fighting a weight problem since I was 20----every low fat/low cal diet brought hunger, frustration, and eventually more weight. I believe this is a way of eating that I can maintain----I just can't eat sugar or high carb foods---at all!! The cravings come back with immense intensity and after experiencing this last time, I hope I have learned an important lesson about myself------sugar for me is like a drug-----very addictive and not possible even in small quanities. Ok, I've rambled long enough----just wanted to thank everyone here for all the support!! Lynn, Kentucky
