Guest guest
HI , I usually don't reply much but do tons of reading. However your question pertaining to do nothing has me concerned. I did nothing with my hyperthryoidism pretty much dismissed the symptoms for at least two years after my blood work came back. By the time I decided something was really wrong and we started treatment my spouce thought I had bi-polar. Our bodies react differently.... My suggestion is seek an endo who is knowledgable with thyroid disorders in children. Please don't do the sit and wait. just my thoughts 11 year old girl with hyperthyroid adenoma dear Elaine... Guest guest
I have an 11 year old son recently diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. He has also just started going through puberty so I do believe this was a trigger. We have an appointment with a Pediatric Endo on Sept. 5 so I will know more then. I will let you know what he recommends as far as treatment after our appointment. I can definitely see the effects that the hyperthyroidism is having on his mood though. A friend of mine told me it was just puberty, but I can tell it is more. He acts like I do when I am feeling hyper, over emotional and snapping at every little thing. - ~For Excellent Educational and Children's Books ~visit my site below: http://www.ubah.com/D1226 11 year old girl with hyperthyroid adenoma I have a 11 year old daughter .... last week we noticed a lump on her throat ... we took her to see her doctor....he order a blood test and it indicated she had hyperthyroid ...we reviewed family video tapes made of my daughter over past several years... The video shows that she had a lump in her throat as far back as when she was 7-8 years old ....beyond this date it is difficult to tell if she had any lump because of poor video tapes ...But she has had no Symptoms of hpyerthyroidism ....My daughter is going through puberty right now ... she has developing breast ... although she has not had her period yet .... but i expect it to be very soon .... Today we visited an endo who had ordered ultra sound and the thyroid scan test together with many different blood tests ...The results of the tests per endo is that she has hyperthyroid adenoma. He has ordered FNA and says thyriod need to be removed by surgery....did not give any other options ..... please can any one help from their experiences ....so we can make the correct decision ... thank you very much ...christine ps..
