Guest guest
Hi again everyone! I just talked to Jillian again. Jillian has been having some problems with pain. Even to the extent of crying in the night because of it. The nurses have been giving her some pretty heavy doses of medicine, however it isn't lasting long or working as well as it should. No one figured out why, until today. Her epidural started beeping signaling that the bag was empty. When the nurse inspected the bag, it was still full. However, they found a kink in the line, thus NO pain medicine was being delivered at all via the epidural. Now that they have remedied that, she got her first really good sleep since the surgery. She awakened, asked to shower, did so and says she feels wonderful now! Her NG tube was removed yesterday, so she's not as horse sounding today. She drank some apple juice today, which she said tasted just great! She's been walking the halls. Physical Therapy said that she is doing so well with walking, that she didn't need the therapy part any longer. Still no bowel movements, but there are healthy bowel sounds. So maybe tomorrow. If not, they have ways of making things work again. She did recommend another thing for people to bring to the hospital, a back scratcher. Jillian is really pleased with the nursing staff so far. She says they have been just wonderful. It looks like she may be leaving the hospital on Friday. I'll keep you posted as to her progress!
