Guest guest
Kim, It's hard to believe I am at 18 weeks too. I am really showing a lot and it's very obvious I am pg. I surprise myself everytime I pass a mirror. I can't help but smile at my growing tummy, knowing that our little one is in there. Amazing huh?? Feeling the baby moving is incredible, I can't wait to feel those definite kicks (ok, so maybe I'll regret that later). It's just something I have always imagined and I wonder if it'll be anything like I thought. You are really moving on along girl. It won't be long before you'll be giving us your l & d story. Guest guest
Kim, Only 5 weeks, wow what a short time!! Now I can't remember, are you going to be going back to work after the baby. I know I have to I am trying to decide now how long to take off. I can actually take off 4 months, but that is a long time to be gone from the office. I just don't know and now we are thinking about the whole childcare issue and worried about leaving our baby with strangers. YIKES, that's a real scary thought. I am not sure when we should be looking but I am thinking probably pretty soon since I know we are very picky. I am really hoping to find someone who is a licensed at home child care provider that only has a small number of children. I am going to ask around at church and see what I can find out as well as at our parenting support group (which began by being called (Maybe Baby) but now all of us are pg!! I just wondered what your plans are. Dana 18 weeks 5 days

Guest guest
Dana, I am glad to hear that you are showing, and delighted, it is a nice time. The kicks are definetely going to get stronger, they hurt in the end. I can't wait to be showing my labor and delivery story with all of you, won't be long now, only 5 weeks. We are ready, just waiting until he is. I would love for him to come a little early, anxious to meet him, but he would mess up my plans with work. This Friday is my last day in the office, and then I will be working from home beginning Monday until I go into labor. I have so much work to do before I can go out on maternity leave and so much I want to do in the house, it is overwhelming some days - I must be in that nesting stage. Enjoy your belly! Guest guest
Dana, I hope your little one cooperates, it is so great to see them regardless if they show you their boy or girl parts, but it is disappointing. Be sure and eat before you go, and eat something sweet also, this makes them more active. I did this with our second, and we could tell he was a boy as soon as the screen was turned on. I am planning on natural, I would like to do it without an epidural. I am learning a lot of great techniques in the Lamaze class, but I know it is a lot different to do the exercises and remain calm when you are in terrible pain. I am going to try and get through, but I talked with my doc, and he said if he can see that I am going to have a long time to go with labor and am really uncomfortable, I can opt for the epi. I am enjoying the course, learning alot, and it was nice to get a tour of the hopsital, learn about what is going to happen from the time you get in there, etc. The staff at my hospital is so great, they make me feel so relaxed when they are talking. We also took a one night breastfeeding course, and that was very informative, my hospital has a 95% rate of breastfeedign mothers, so they really help you out. We were supposed to take a Baby Basics class, which is how to care for the baby, but I was just to tired to go, I figured the two of us could figure out what to do. I would say take advantage of all the courses they offer, especially being a first time parent, it defenitely makes me feel like a parent and that I am doing something good for the baby before he arrives. I will be thinking of you on Monday, and can't wait to hear about the baby! Kim 35w, 7d Due 8-16-
Guest guest
Vicki, I read about them online and when I ordered the booklet, I knew we had to have them. They are the only ones that dh likes also. I love the colors and the way the baby's picture goes on there, it really personalizes it, and also saves on sending everyone a picture of the baby also. I am glad to hear that you were pleased with them, that puts me at ease about ordering them. I am sure they were great with the pink for a little girl! Guest guest
Kim, Blue or pink, even the off-white ones looked cute in the booklet! They do a really great job, some of the pictures I took were of her at the hospital laying on my hospital bed sleeping (white t-shirt, white diaper, white sheets, white blanket..), they ended up using one from when we were home, she had a light pink blanket on and a pink sleeper with rosebuds, but once they do the black and white you can't really tell and they use the one that they think will turn out the nicest, they even call if they have any questions.
