Guest guest
That's how my father did it with me--making me try everything, and more than once--and that's how I do it with my kids, and as a result none of us are picky. I can take my 13 yr old anywhere to eat and she will find something she likes. I can take her to any type of ethnic restaurant, no matter how exotic. I have a friend who never made her kids try anything, and they can't go anywhere now because they are afraid to eat anyone's food. They even have to eat before they go to someone's house, or before they go to a prom or dance. They won't go to camp. All because they might not like the food at other places. Their diets are very limited and not nutritious. She limited them very badly by not ever making them try new foods. ann > I do insist that my kids at least try something. They do not have to finish it, but they must give taste. And just because they do not like something today that does not mean I will not make them try it again in a month or two. > > MB
